Sorry, i normally don't do this but..."facism"? Is that a political belief based on attractiveness?

peninsuladailynews.com wrote:PORT ANGELES — Two Port Angeles women told police they suspect a baby Jesus theft ring is in operation after the lit plastic statues of the infant Jesus of Nazareth were stolen from several Nativity scenes in their neighborhood this week.

Kristina Russell and Merri Wilson are neighbors on South N Street in Port Angeles, and each display a light-up plastic Nativity set in their yards each year around Christmas.

“Usually we go out of town for Christmas, so we take it down,” Wilson said.

However, this year, Wilson’s grandchildren came to Port Angeles so the Nativity set, which includes plastic lighted figurines of Joseph, Mary, Jesus, an angel and a selection of farm animals, was still in the yard.

When they went to bed on Sunday night, all the figurines were still in the yard, Wilson said.

In the morning, the statue of the baby was gone, and so was her neighbor’s, she said.

Russell and her family drove around the neighborhood to see if other Nativity sets had also been robbed.

“Five of seven were missing their baby Jesus,” Russell said.

Russel said she spoke to the other Nativity set owners, each of whom said the thefts are an annual occurrence, and are often accompanied by the remaining pieces being moved into sexually suggestive positions.

Wilson and Russell called the Port Angeles Police Department to report the thefts.

I think if he'd just used the first part of his opening line "Talking about killjoys" he would have gotten a totally different reaction. I see this going to your flow chart box "How does it call attention itself".

Exactly.

Actually, it is another group attempting to stifle the free speech and religious celebration of another group. And it is fascism in action. Sign of the times in Amerca. It is childish and disgusting.
So because Christians failed to use the government to exclusively promote their religion because an atheist was given equal access to the public forum, this means the atheist was attempting to stifle free speech? Unless the atheist shuts up and lets the government create an explicitly Christian forum, then the atheist is stifling free speech? Is that how you imagine it?

In fairness, this comes off more as irreverent and funny than asinine in person. Reading about it is like reading an internet post where you can't tell if they're being sarcastic or not.

What atheists are doing in this instance is nothing different than your knee-jerk need to post asinine responses to thoughtful comments on MDB. Should you have to stay out of all atheist threads because your posting in them in response is "disgusting and fascist"? You made the point of ludwigm's posted illustration. Christians make the best hypocrites.

Yes, let the atheists Trump the nativity scene at christmas. No problem with placing atheist signs around the nativity scene at christmas as a statement of freedom of speech. No problem at all even though the nativity scene was there for decades and enjoyed by many people for the christmas season.

No problem with atheist facsists attempting to stifle the christian holiday. But they would never put such signs and symbols around jewish (antisemitic) or muslim (off with the head fatwah) symbolisms. The reaction would be severe. Much better to pick on the christians who generally turn he other cheek.

Its christmas. Let the christians have their traditions. The scene was there for decades before atheist facsists now put signs around the scene as an expression of freedom. When the holiday is over, the atheists can put up their signs. No problem. But not for atheist fascists. They need to put their signs around the scene as a symbol of freedom at christmas. Or destroy the nativity scene altogether. Such is freedom.

Let them burn witches, apostates, nonbelievers, anybody they don't like. Such is freedom.

Don't worry, I do that all the time. No, facism is a form of rebellion against talking to the hand.

There is a wide difference between a nativity scene display of religious belief and an atheistic scene denigrating the religious belief of others. To be on the same wavelength, the atheists should have displayed an arrangement of vacuum cleaners.

Well obviously this has nothing to do with fascism, the definition has been posted and the OP/VI can't seem to grasp it, what a surprise. It does appear though that Mr. Vix is lying to himself about his motives for doing this, why did he do this if he really believes what is claimed at the end of the article?

The displays in Santa Monica are not nearly as elaborate. One of Mr. Vix’s favorite signs sits right in the middle of the park, but few passers-by stopped one recent afternoon to read the quote from Robert Ingersoll, the 19th-century writer and orator:

“Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so.”

His actions show quite clearly that it makes him happy to spoil other peoples celebration, in direct contradiction to his supposedly favorite sign.
