Not just any employee but the president and CEO, son of the chairman and founder, and I'm going to make a wild, wild, guess, he controls a major block of stock in a closely held corporation.

And here's another wild guess, he has more control over corporate policies than any given individual flippin' the chicken paddies and running the cash register.

If by "public corporation" you mean a corporation owned by the government you would be right. But Chic Fil A is not owned by the government.

If you mean a publicly traded corporation you would be wrong. Furthermore, Chic Fil A is not publicly traded.

In at least 29 states, you can be fired for being Gay.

Enjoy your meal.

your knowledge is rather lacking.

Chik-Fil-A's charitable foundation, which receives millions in funding from Chik-Fil-A (i.e. paying customers' money), has in turn donated millions to anti-gay groups across much of the last decade.

additionally, Chik-Fil-A's whole corporate culture is pretty creepy, unless you're a Christian fanatic.

why anyone who supports gay equality would give their money to Chick-Fil-A is beyond me.

Nice OP, Dr. Scratch. My firm is actually contemplating filing two lawsuits this week against Chik-fil-A.

Unfortunately, and for whatever reason, Chik-fil-A seems to foster a work environment where sexual harrassment seems to flourish. There have been several high profile, recent lawsuits filed against Chik-fil-A.

I think Will Schryver would do well as a manager at Chik-fil-A if the publishing gig falls through.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

+100 to you, Doctor Scratch! :-)

Does Scott have any earthly idea how the folks running Chick Fila feel about Mormonism? As a teen I worked at one of their restaurants for a grand total of 45 minutes. Once one of the workers discovered I was investigating Mormonism the entire staff went ballistic. The job interview itself focuses on their mission to "Glorify God." I never could understand how selling overpriced chicken filet with a squirt of mayonnaise and a slice of pickle, "glorifies God."

And I don't know how this food chain manages to get away with hiring mostly white folks for so long now. Twenty years later almost all their stores are exactly the same, in that they are usually run by white kids (at least one red headed at every store) with older white with thick country accents managing them. Even in Atlanta that is just weird, and says something about their discriminatory hiring practices. I suspect they try to hire within their Church.

Of course when you walk in the doors they have a huge photo of Truett Cathy with carefully selected employees circling around him. The photo suggests diversity, with a Latino, Black, Indian, Asian and Caucasian, in exactly that order, going all the way around the circle. LOL! But in reality I've never seen any minorities there.

And Trev is right. Everything there is overpriced, too. Especially their lemonade, which is good, but usually consists of 80% ice.

Praise Jesus and Capitalism!

Blixa wrote:I decided long ago to never eat there because of their stupid name. I've still never ever seen one of their "restaurants," so it's sort of a moot point.

We don't have Chik-fil-A in Canada, so the only time I've ever seen one is in American food courts. I've never eaten there either, but my younger son had a sandwich there on the way to Kirtland a year ago and said it was the most disgusting thing he's ever had. Mind you, we don't eat much fast food, I find it to be overly salty and greasy. Or overly salty and dry.

I hope Scotty Dog finds his way to a gym to work off all that anti-gay chicken. Maybe Paul O. can recommend a nice gym (equipped with or near a bathhouse, of course)
