The problem is the church desperately needs some new material, but since the church is true, and the lessons and youth programs were inspired, the reason the youth are leaving is because of satan.
In a way, yes. If one is a Mormon youth, that person is expected to follow church teachings: no alcohol, no sex, dress modestly, be an example etc. Not easy at all for many youth who want to experience the wild side. Churches should not be about entertainment. Rather, churches should give good guidance in how to do life and bring that person closer to god. The LDS church does a good job in doing this for its youth. But it is not easy for a young person nor for an adult.

How would you know?
Because I have succumbed to the ways of the world. Next question?

Then you don't know what it takes to be a Mormon nowadays, because whatever it takes you haven't got 'it'.
Now Mormons will love your response because it reinforces what they want to believe - that to be a Mormon you have to be strong and that those who fall away were weak.
When actually, the reverse is true. It is much harder to leave Mormonism than it is to just keep attending.

"Cult of the Prophet". I like that. It sums up the modern church very well. The latest example was the televised birthday party for TSM.
What is strange is that if one follows the teaching of the LDS church one can have a nice moral life fulled with empathy and love for neighbor. Nothing that the LDS church teaches creates an evil, selfish, self-centered person. But in this world of ours it is the 'good' that suffers.
Hmmm...I too can have a nice moral life filled with empathy and love for my neighbor...without all of the damaging issues created by Mormonism...in other words...all of the good and none of the bad. Remember Mormonism does not have a monopoly on goodness, morality, strong family relationships or charity. In fact all of those human atributes are attainable without Mormonism.

True, but you do have the influence of Mormonism that can make you a wonderful person, father, friend and spouse. And your values are screwed on right because of that influence.

Yep. Without the Mormon influence it is impossible to be a wonderful person, father, friend and spouse. It is also impossible to have your values screwed on right. In fact, I've never seen a Mormon who is a bad person, father, friend, spouse. And I have never met a non-mormon who is a good person, father, friend, spouse. Life is so much simpler when you embrace this black and white thinking.

No...you are wrong....these values are not unique to Mormonism and anyone can/could have achieved them without Mormonism...irrespective of my personal Mormon experience.

You mean like that Mormon Branch President that tried to bite that young man's penis off when he leapt to his single mothers defence to prevent that Mormon Branch President sexually assaulting her?
Or like that Mormon Church Leader who convinced a fifteen year old girl to get naked in his hot tub.
What about that Mormon General Authority that liked to caress (inappropriately) young girls?
How about that Mormon Primary Teacher that sexually assaulted one of his female class members during lesson time?

Was your Bishop named BC Space, and did the pamphlet help you with your problem?
bcspace has never been asked nor ever has asked a young person about masturbation in an interview since he started interviewing and being interviewed in the 1970's.
by the way, the region encompassing the Wasatch Front is, If I recall correctly, is the second to adopt the new singles ward format wherein young men and women are sent when they turn 18. We've seen a dramatic rise in missions and temple marriages since then in these regions.

What's the new format? There were singles wards when I was 18, but no one wanted to go to them.
