Feel free to explain how it isn't hypocrisy. For eight years we were bombarded by Christian wholesome family values criticism of the Obama's from everything from her being overtly unpatriotic to her looking too much like an orangutan. Hell even Conservative posters here referred to her as a Female Patrick Ewing.

It isn't silly crap at all. Pointing out the obvious hypocrisy among those wholesome family values Republicans is a great way to install change. All I did was point out the obvious and you're spinning it as "rage." I'm not raging about anything, just stating the facts. Melania is by far the most embarrassing First Lady. People all around the world see this as such an American stereotype which is bad. An old, fat disgusting wealthy American buying a young trophy wife from another country. Gee, who ever heard of that scenario played out?

But as to your remark that this stuff doesn't work, I guess you haven't been paying any attention to recent history. Republicans have been shaming Democrats on racist and bigoted grounds for many years, and it obviously didn't hurt them in the election. In fact a decade of propaganda and fake news against Hillary made a significant portion of America vote for Trump simply because they've become scared shitless of Hillary.

And it's working.

Republicans have been playing a long game. They actually studied the successes of liberals in the Sixties. A man named Paul Weyrich put together the Free Congress foundation back in the 70s. The Right became much more organized through his efforts. Republican Dick Armey and Newt Gingrich urged conservatives to study the writings of Saul Alinsky. The Relief Society were willing to learn from the Ds and got better weapons thereby.

Now the liberals need to learn the same lessons. The old identity politics, the old coalitions, the urban base, have become a trap. They need to challenge and expand beyond them. The Relief Society combined with organizations like ALEC to produce legislation, lobbying and influence elections at every level, from the county level up to national contests. They invested in "think tanks". This has worked. Democrats will learn from it or not. They can march around with vaginas on their heads and splutter in rage or they can buckle down and organize and strategize. They can talk about Melania or they can talk about winning over the American people.
