With my freedom of speech I have the right to say the law is sometimes too harsh. For example people can go to jail for smoking marijuana. I believe that is not right that too many people go to jail.

I understand Jersey Girl, but we humans are complex beings. In a poor high school some teachers got 20 years in prison for giving the answers to students during a test.
DT I'm bailing on this thread. It's too late and I've got a full day tomorrow. I just wanted to say that I wasn't yelling at you when I posted in all CAPS. Just too tired to mess with the editing.

As a human do you feel that being fired is not enough? So if a teachers makes a racist comment during class she gets fired, but if she has sex with a 17 year old boy (one year above the legal age of consent) she goes to prison and is added on the sex offender for life. Why can't the breach of trust apply to racist comments?
what is the relevance here for her attractiveness? and why "girl"? clearly she is a woman. Your thinly veiled sexism is showing

This quote is also applicable to teenagers who smoke marijuana, smoke cigarettes, drink booze, cut class, bully nerds, etc.

I feel US law is too harsh sometimes. Well being? In North Carolina the age of consent is 16 years, the guy is 17 years old.
Oh, well, since it is your gut feeling the good people of New Jersey should certainly legislate their lives based upon such a virtuous measure.
However, there is a silver lining....move to New Jersey, show up for jury duty and voila! you can opine your feeling with 11 other New Jerseyans (New Jerseyites) and get a better sense for what is harsh and what is not harsh with regards to how criminal transgressions are resolved.

I know, right? Since this is a Mormon discussions board, would you like to talk about the crimes Joseph Smith committed and how that correlates to fraudulent behavior?

Throwing 'whataboutism' around is an attempt at using a thought-terminating-cliche. But then again, that's kind of your deal. Boy, for a guy who really wants to have "logical arguments" and "fact-based discussions" you sure do avoid them like the plague.
You got enough energy to crap out one-liners all day, but creating just ONE substantive post is too much of an effort for you I guess.
