From time to time I've heard people refer to problems with the autocorrect system here. Is this kind of thing what folks are talking about? I did notice that my usual abbreviation for Jersey Girl (J G without the space) has been magically transforming into her full nick. I can see that screwing up all kinds of URLs.

No idea how you could correct it. I'm still not 100% certain that is what caused it, just speculation on my part. I seem to remember a back and forth DocCam and I were having some time ago where we were trying to use W.S. to abbreviate something and the board kept correcting it to Will's name.

Edit: Just did a quick test and it seems that auto correct function is tied to the language filter. So if you have it off you wouldn't see the change but those that do will see it (I'm sure that solves more problems than it creates, right?!?!).

Me? There was a time when Shades (the evil visionary) made the autocorrect change the nickname into my full screen name. I thought he changed it back? Gonna find out in this post.

Make sure you are not seeing that when you are logged out. Because the system (including ignore/disabled censor mode) doesn't work from the outside looking in. You have to be logged into the system for the bells and whistles to work. I know, it doesn't make any sense to a sane person.

Jersey Girl

ETA: See? It works so long as you are logged in. Log out and view that again.

I've read this book a half dozen times at a few different ages.

I still think it has the best magic system in all of high fantasy, except maybe for the Malazan universe's.

Lol, not sure. The snapshot on the previous page comes from viewing the thread on an iPad. When you hover over a link, it presents these sorts of long strings that are unlike the typical link you'd see in your browser window. And different times or days may give different results - I don't see Will's name showing up if I try it today, for example. Its a mystery!

It’s not you, canpakes. Shades deleted WS=Will Schryver from the autocorrect so that your link would work if reposted. If you post a link that won’t work, try turning off the language censor and reposting it.

Aha. I'll add here that the link, even showing the WS autocorrect, went to the expected doc. So there was no problem in redirecting, if that was a concern.

Now I'm curious as to who will show up next in one of these strings...
