It’s being reported the dog is fine and has returned to duty. That’s oddly a relief for some reason. :)

What's the betting that Trump awards him/her a Purple Heart?

Me, I'm hoping that if that happens the dog will sniff at the Presidential pants, conclude 'Yup, another of them there bad guys, like I was trained to sniff out and apprehend' and sink his fangs into the buttocks contained therein ... all on live television, of course.

This is apropos of nothing, but there's something about "al-Baghdadi" that just seems so over-the-top in terms of a name for a bad guy. It sounds like something out of a cheap movie.

And in this B movie, in a twist everyone could see coming, it turns out the guy bragging about killing the bad-guy (who was in fact a bad-guy) was the really bad bad-guy all along. The fact that he was a painted orange clown gave it away.

Um, 'al-XXXi' as part of an Arabic name simply means 'the guy from XXX', in this case Baghdad. (Actually this was an assumed name; he originally came from Samarra, and was hence called al-Samarrai before he made the change.)

So Trump's Arabic name might include al-Niyūyūrki along with other elements possibly indicating his father's name and so on.

That's interesting, Chap (seriously - I love learning stuff like this).

I was really thinking of the "Baghdadi" part. It just sounds like a made up mobster name, or a nickname: a combination of "bag man" and "big daddy."

I tend to associate too freely sometimes. I admit it.

It was embarrassing to watch Trump make it all about him. Obama short speech 9 minutes and Trump almost an hour.

But he did not give advance news of the al-Baghdadi raid to the people in Congress that he was obliged by law to inform:

In a break with precedent, Trump excluded senior Democrats on the so-called Gang of Eight – the group of congressional leaders who by law are to be informed of covert actions ordered by the US president – from all operational intelligence.

But of course, he did give the Russians advance warning. I mean, those Russians would never betray a US covert operation, but you can't ever trust a Democrat like you can a Russian.

Trump is so many things, it's easy to overlook what a damned traitor to his country he is.
