I'm surprised that more wasn't made out of President Trump plainly stating "“I don’t know when it was signed, because I didn’t sign it" in regards to the proclamation invoking the Alien Enemies Act. That's a huge problem that people in the current administration are just running around signing Trump's signature to things without his knowledge that are being ruled illegal and unconstitutional. I think I saw one video clip, and a CNN article... and then *poof* buried into the void.

I guess an actual admission to not knowing about the signing of a Presidential Proclamation isn't as juicy as a conspiracy. Hopefully, between Biden and Trump, the next administration will look at the situation(s) and implement more robust safeguards around autopens and digital signatures.

In the meantime, I guess we all just enjoy the nebulous ride of "I wonder who signed that."

OK. Give details on how you will determine what a given President ‘understands’ about the content of autopen-signed documents, and what penalties or actions should be taken for situations where an independent panel determines that a particular level of understanding was not met.

You’ll need to start with the current President, as he has already admitted to not signing things that purportedly show his signature, and because it would make no sense to excuse him from examination if you interpret the use of an autopen to be an urgent matter worth investigating.

We can probably begin after we conclude with the teleprompter investigations, which will also need to start with the present guy. : D
