Yes one nasty apostate right there!
It's called swinging nowadays. Or wife swapping.
Interesting that Joseph called it marriage.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I'd argue this wasn't the first time this tactic was used by them.

Thanks Ray, as I figured, you already have a solid understanding of this issue. Not sure why it is new ground for me, and something that I have not taken very well.
edit:
I had never heard the D&C 132 deal before ... are their other refereneces, more information on this (the Emma deal)
This second link sure is a blast from the past, Ray. It's yet another reminder about how FAIR operates in the shadows. They've gone even more deeply into hiding since they launched their "Mormon Defense League"/"Mormon Voices" thing. But it was interesting to see this, what with all the references to the way that Kevin Barney et al. caved under pressure from Will Schryver.
Speaking of which... Where is Will these days?

Do you think his later letters should have any credibility. The ones he wrote towards the end of his life?
How long did he live? At what age did he die? Joseph Smith died at the tender age of 38. Whose life was in danger and who made Joseph's life more difficult? Law?
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith

But you know, when you are a religious leader and a grown man, and you tell a teenage girl who is among your followers that she needs to marry you for her family to get into heaven, then sure, I can see a good faith argument for this being a mature, rational decision between mature and consenting adults.
The accusations have been made that Joseph Smith was a horny toad. Also that he was lustful and crazed sex. I don't see these accusations being made by any of his wives. As far I can see, the women were very respectful of Joseph Smith even after he died. No one claimed that he was sex crazed, lustful, insensitive and a bastard. Why should I think any different?

Did you mean he "craved" (crazed) sex?
Again, I don't know what your criteria are for being a horny toad. But as far as sexual intercourse with his plural wives, as has been repeatedly pointed out to you for at least the almost two years I have been on this board (including in this thread), the LDS Church got affidavits from them stating that they slept together. That does not mean they had a slumber party. It means they had sexual intercourse. Former plural wives of Joseph Smith also testified during the Temple Lot trial that they had sex with him.
Since you are simultaneously presenting a straw man and ignoring objective reality, your consistent immunity to fact suggests that you will not think differently at any point during my lifetime.
