Re: Charlie Kirk shot at UVU in Orem
Gunnar, this statement puzzles me. I unfortunately saw a video of the moment that the bullet hit Kirk. The resulting fountain of blood exiting the wound was something that I would have regarded as comically exaggerated if it was a scene in a b-movie horror flick made by a troupe of community college acting students.
If anyone would wonder why they were seeing ‘so little blood coming out of the entry wound’, I’d figure that it’s because probably a quarter of all of Kirk’s blood exited in the first 3 seconds, and his heart was no longer pumping past that point.
Anyway, consider that if you don’t work in the medical field, maybe don’t watch that video.

Mediation services are available.Bret Ripley wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:20 amI just realized there's a chance that Seattle's first opponent in the playoffs will be the Tigers, in which case Ceeboo and I will temporarily be mortal enemies. We'll try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum.

I think we are going to have our hands full with Cleveland - If we should make it past the Guardians, dismantling Seattle will be a breeze.Bret Ripley wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:20 amI just realized there's a chance that Seattle's first opponent in the playoffs will be the Tigers, in which case Ceeboo and I will temporarily be mortal enemies. (Kidding - I think Seattle has a pretty good shot at being in the WS this year)

I don't know, Cleveland beat Detroit 9 out of 13 games this year. The Mariners might be safe from the Tigers!Bret Ripley wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:20 amI just realized there's a chance that Seattle's first opponent in the playoffs will be the Tigers, in which case Ceeboo and I will temporarily be mortal enemies. Roberts, Cora, Francona and Hinch have all won a WS.
Wouldn’t bet against any of them.

I corrected the URL to one that works. The creator of the video was Chris Martenson who claims to have a PHD in pathology from Duke University with a subspecialty in toxicology and has some expertise in ballistics and that he and his team have had experience and expertise in investigating and analyzing gunshot deaths. I was a bit sleepy when I posted the video, and incorrectly remembered what he said about the blood. The issue was not about the quantity of the blood (there was certainly a lot of it! My bad!canpakes wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:15 amGunnar, this statement puzzles me. I unfortunately saw a video of the moment that the bullet hit Kirk. But I can't know for sure if he actually read the real autopsy report or if he was just speculating from an unexpert analysis of the available videos of the event. So, I acknowledge that my own interpretation what he said could very well be mistaken. He admits, himself, that his opinion might well change if he had access to the full autopsy report and the current state of the investigation.
But thanks for reading and reanalyzing what I posted and showing me where I might have erred or might have been too gullible.
