You may have noticed that several thought provoking members have opted out over the past month or so. Some I don't particularly agree with or even like, but they have contributed to making the forum balanced and civil till now. What gives?

Who has opted out that was a thought provoking member?

Well, the TBM's mostly. They provoke me to think of all the reasons why their logic is so broken. It keeps me on track. Have you seen Gaz, Nehor, DCP, Ray A, Coggins (even though there's no way he could really be a Mormon) and others lately? And then there is Truth Dancer and others. I can identify with their civility (well, except for Coggins). They don't even post to the Celestial lately.

Hey Inconceivable, I saw Coggins a few days ago. I talked to Gaz just yesterday or the day before. Nehor was on here just a day ago too. DCP never posted ANYTHING of substance here.

I am actually very worried about Ray A and wonder where he went.

I wouldn't say that they've left. I was worried you were talking about others that have left. I do think sometimes life happens. It'd probably be wise for us all to remember that when people take a hiatus (or leave) there is a world outside the boards. :)

I do have a scheduled priesthood lesson I need to teach here next sunday. If I do a good job (with help from the Spirit), Ill be sure to post it in the Celestial kingdom for open discussion.

Also, I am unsettled on a specific topic, so if you have a request, I'm open to suggestions.

Oh! See, look there's Gaz!

Oh! And I'd like to mention when I first posted on this board that derailments were often split off to telestial and I liked when that happened. From my experience all anyone had to do was request that occur and the mods would do that.

How about the evils of interracial marriage?

You know, Elves and Taurin getting it on is a crime punishable by a quick death. Maybe you could teach about Brighams feelings on interracial marriage, proper slave ownership and why blacks are "cursed" with dark skin.

Wow, I guess that because its not taught anymore then its OK. Well, that's just not true. Someone phone the KKK, its OK that they lynched blacks back in the day but since they don't do it anymore its all good. Hell, the Neo Nazis need to hear this.

Although I recognise that the church does not teach this any longer the racial teachings still remain as evidenced in that most correct of books the Book of Mormon...oh wait, that's right...that was changed to reflect a more tolerant position. Someone call Salt Lake!

Why is it that the Mormons leave shady acres (and always return) after they ARE OFFENDED? Hmm....If they could only get over their offense.

Let me go on record and say here, as a Moderator of the board, that I support Shades' and Keene's vision for the board.

This board was developed for adults. As adults, we should all take some responsibility and self-moderate.

We're all guilty of flying off the handle once in a while, or getting a little carried away with comments...but seriously...

If we all decided to think a little bit before hitting the "Send" button, we could avoid a lot of this mess.

Edited to add----Also...if there are posters you don't particularly get along with, resist the urge to engage them if it's going to raise your blood pressure. It's not worth it. Life's too short.

;)
