Gadianton mentioned there not being many atheist charities.

I don't think this is a good way to focus on the question. Why would a person or group of people start a charity in the name of atheism? There might be some limited interest atheist charities, such as those done by people who get together in the name of atheist interests. But for the most part, this doesn't make much sense. Atheists aren't big on trading bread for a conversion oppurtunity, nor does atheism imply a mission to serve others as it is merely a statement about what a person doesn't believe. In order for a charity to be atheist, it needs to be based in belief that God does not exist or based in nonbelief in a diety. But why start something like that? It would make more sense, broadly speaking, to have a nonreligious charity for other reasons. If an atheist starts a charity in the name of goodwill towards man, it isn't an atheist charity, but it isn't religious either. It's secular. There are lots of secular charities - those not based in religion. And there is where you should be focusing your attention. I donate to the Red Cross, not to the United Atheist Alliance. Of course there are other ways to help others or otherwise act in a morally ideal fashion that atheists might participate in, but you get the point.

In my experience athiests are not as ethical though this is counterbalanced by finding less sanctimonious prats among them. They have lots of pseudointellectual prats...but I've found that's an equal opportunity prathood.

If that were true, then I would expect you to be a religious zealot.

Yeah, but you're an idiot. So what?

Are evangelical christians equally Ethical?

Hey Merc

Help me here. You often refer to ethics over morals. I thought they were essentially the same. Well I know there are some differences especially when one narrowly defines morals is a religious sense to apply mainly to sex. So help me out.

Dart, yea I read the article quickly the other day at my Dr's office. Interesting ideas.

What dart? It was a simple statement of fact. Of course, given that you're an idiot, I wouldn't really expect you to pick up on that.

Interesting that you'd bring up inbreeding. I'm starting to get a clearer picture now. You been eyeing your sister lately? What's good for mommy and daddy is good for you, right?

You have already demonstrated that you are low rent, trifling, and lacking in native intelligence several times over. Do you really need to drive the point into the ground?

For some reason I just imagined an alien landing on our planet and reading this thread. I would hold no grudge if he blew up the planet to keep the galaxy safe.

Morality everywhere.

I have too much disdain for you to be pissed off. You are simply one more noxious mediocrity on the internet.

Well, given that you excel at noxious mediocrity, it's a wonder you'd have disdain for that which you perceive to be just like you.

Of course, given that you're an idiot as well, it's likely you don't even recognize your own noxious mediocrity.
