The Bible also supports stoning witches and killing smart mouthed children. You believe in that, too?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Revelations 2:17 and D&C 130: 10-11 both talk about a white stone. I don't think it is a superstitious idea.

Rev 2:17 talks about receiving a white stone with a new name that only you yourself know. It says nothing about using it to see the future, use for translations, etc.

The NAB calls it a "white amulet".

The Message Bible uses this terminology: "I'll also give a clear, smooth stone inscribed with your new name, your secret new name."

The Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition says this: " I will give the hidden manna, and will give him a white counter, and in the counter, a new name written, which no man knoweth, but he that receiveth it.

Most people would like to be delivered from temptation but would like it to keep in touch. - Robert Orben

You don't see using a stone in a hat as being superstitious? I find this comment to be either a dodgy lie or further evidence of your blatant ignorance and naivity.

I bet Joseph employed them to see through dresses, though I bet they're no longer useful in that particular capacity. (Or you wouldn't be selling them on e-bay!)

Nope, I got them legit. I've been translating other documents -- they'll be for sale soon and I'll announce when they're available

just to add that if you really want to read a good essay on seer stones, Susan Staker wrote one the best articles I ever read about the Book of Mormon and Seer Stones in American Apocrypha. It's a must read for anyone who wants to see how Joseph Smith viewed Seer Stones and how he gave important characters in the Book of Mormon the gift of the Seer.
