I don't pay tithing anymore, so I don't give a s***. But I think it's a good thing to build in preperation for the Lord's second coming. He is going to need to buy some new clothes.

For what they are getting, I'm surprised at the sheer business blunder this has turned into. My guess is that this generation of well connected GA's and their business partners wanted a fast cash out. There is no such thing as a conflict of interest between two Mormons and contracting for the church. Especially if all one needs is a well placed phone call to a few second cousins and whatnot to get the wheels sufficiently greased.
