Let us all bow to the doctrine of captialism. A doctrine, by the way, that does not conflict with LDS doctrine in any way. It's quite neutral actually, depends on what you do with it.

For what they are getting, I'm surprised at the sheer business blunder this has turned into. My guess is that this generation of well connected GA's and their business partners wanted a fast cash out. There is no such thing as a conflict of interest between two Mormons and contracting for the church. Especially if all one needs is a well placed phone call to a few second cousins and whatnot to get the wheels sufficiently greased.
