Trevor
I don't blame Runtu. I look to him as an example. I need to leave this place to those who are truly capable of taking lighthearted enjoyment out of this. I fear I may not be one of them.

I totally agree with you!
Dr. Shades & Cohorts!
Start eliminating those individuals who are truly capable of taking lighthearted enjoyment out of this site.
You may start at once!

*sigh*

While not all voices are equally palatable, all voices are equally allowed to express themselves, and then to take the lumps which their expression generates. Those which disrupt the flow are controlled not by force, but by public rejection of their words. The vision of this place is unique. No one can tell another what usefulness to gain from it, that is up to the individual. Yet to refuse to see that there exist more than one type of enjoyment makes a mockery of all. We are not all equally endowed with wisdom and education. All contribute to the limit of their capacity; no one is required to accept that which is not palatable to them, but to silence even one voice, or to have it silence itself, is just so unfair.

I just wanted to apologize for venting over on FLAK. I honestly don't enjoy the kind of venomous interaction that seems to be more and more common, and not just here. I did not mean for that to be posted here, and I didn't really have anyone in particular in mind (not even Wheat, who I have to assume is just looking for someone to hate). I don't care who disagrees with me, and I have given as much as I have gotten in the past. But I don't like what I become when things get heated, and I don't have nearly the stake in this discussion that I once had. If that makes me a pussy, or intentionally anti-Mormon, that's fine.

If nothing else, I need a break. People like me with mental illness probably shouldn't be engaging in passionate debate about such personal issues.

I sometimes wonder if everyone who hangs around here has (or develops) some mental illness or another.

I had it long before I showed up here. I think that would be obvious. ;)

So. . . perhaps you can settle this controversy for us:

You specifically said you were leaving the Mormon Apologetics & Discussion board, a.k.a. "MA&D." You happened to mention Wheat in the next sentence, leading many to believe that you were leaving MormonDiscussions.com as well.

So who is correct? Are you leaving MA&D only, or are you leaving MormonDiscussions as well?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

You, and me, and Gaz and Merc and Nehor and Will and PP and . . .
Granted, not everyone ends up in a life-critical situation from it, but then again we don't really know how the other inmates are effected. At least you're sane enough to know when to leave.

It was Wheat's nastiness that pushed me over the edge. I guess I shouldn't say I'll never be back, but I need a break from both of these places.

You realize that Wheat is purposefully trying to push your buttons, right? If you leave, then you're giving him exactly what he wants. You're essentially handing him the trophy and telling him that he did indeed best you.

My personal philosophy is that it'll be a cold day in Hell before any Mormon on Earth, Heaven, or Hell can intimidate me off a message board. They day I allow a Mormon to intimidate me off a message board is the day I put a bullet into my own brain.

You seem to think I care if someone "bests" me. As I said, I don't like who I am when I let people get to me. If that means they win, then they win.
