The same way all of your income is reported to the IRS: the employer sends in the report.

You don't really think he'd do these for free, do you? He's being paid, like any other cruise ship employee. And the best part is, he gets to go on some pretty cool trips, too.

We should all be lucky enough to have such a deal! Good for Daniel! (although I really do think the Egyptian trip would be a better deal than Alaska.)

Not necessarily,
Last year I took couple of my employees to Florida, I have a flat there, paid most of their expenses, what is the harm in it?
A free ride is a free ride, IRS would know nothing, I did not spend my corporate money.

Daniel has multiple trips on that list. And there are several more folks on that list than just him. Somehow I doubt the travel agency is taking all those people for free. They'll all get paid, the business will report that they got paid, and they'll all pay taxes.

Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he's what you think he is.

After a long time evaluating this sentence and the comments before (You know, I am not a native english) I have the result:
1. I like Him (really, I might be a masochist)
2. He is far worse than I think He is
3. He is a # (self-censored, self-moderated)

That video John posted about the hollow earth. Good hell, are these people serious?

I hope they do find some big hole up there, just to have a place to toss all of Clay McConkies books that didn't sell. I saw those for sale at Deseret, and just felt a sense of overwhelming sadness for the rest of that great family that has a black sheep like that in it.

I'm surprised Mr.Scratch missed Dr. Peterson's this side of multi-faceted talent.

I'm surprised that anyone would go around searching for stuff on Dr. Peterson. Lord, don't you folks have anything else to think about?

Okay, Daniel. I got totally suckered in and looked at the schedule of cruises. I have two questions.

1. Are you ever afraid of encountering violence in the Holy Land?

2. Is there an IKEA in Seattle now?

:-)

Read the fine print: Your answer to #2 would be the determining factor in my booking the cruise with you. I can so afford you, are you worth it?

It's always a possibility, of course. But I don't worry about it too much.

By and large, Palestinian terrorists haven't targeted tourists; the Palestinians need tourist dollars at least as much as the Israelis do. And, of course, Israeli security is pretty tight. And I've felt completely safe in Bethlehem and Jericho, which are largely controlled by the Palestinians. An attack on their tourist income would not be welcomed by many Palestinians, who are already in difficult economic straits.

In Jordan, the authorities now place an armed soldier on every tourist bus.

They do the same thing in Egypt, except that the armed guard (in my experience) is dressed as a civilian, is much better armed, and has the bearing of a Green Beret. Egypt has actually suffered some spectacular attacks on tourists (notably the massacre of Swiss tourists near the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut some years back) because, in contradistinction to Palestinian terrorists, Egypt's violent Islamists seek to topple the government and hope to cripple Egypt's economy (of which tourism is a major part) in order to accomplish that.

I'm sorry that, several months ago, I scheduled seventy-five student papers to come in on Monday and a midterm to be graded this week and two nights out of town and ward conference this weekend and my annual stewardship interview with my stake presidency on Wednesday night and hours of bishop's interviews and that I had to meet a deadline to finish editing a dual-language edition of Qadi ‘Abd al-Jabbar's Critique of Christian Origins (from his multivolume Kitab al-Mughni) by yesterday.

I've read some of Al-Jabbar; he was a dunce. When he was not decrying Paul for "distorting" Christianity, he was anachronistically placing all the major Christological disputants at the Council of Nicaea. Of course, I don't expect much from a devout follower of the warlord from Mecca.
