Brackite could you put the link back up to the article? I was half way through it. It was very interesting.

I don't think that there is any evil conspiracy leading to a so-called "cover up," but I do believe that some of the church leaders responses to this have led to a PR nightmare. First of all, there is a disagreement among many within the church as to what is actually considered church doctrine and what is not. One can not realistically expect even prophets not to make mistakes or errant statements. The Bible records the prophet Nathan giving king David the approval to build a temple, but later he is corrected by the Lord, and he has to go back and retract his words. Having said that, the facts are these, like it or not, PR problem or not, the prophet Brigham Young did teach the "Curse of Cain" doctrine. So what? The Lamanites were also cursed and their skins were made darker. However, individuals, or even entire races, can receive curses removed or revoked. For example, during Joseph Smith's time, at least two black men were ordained, and in 1978, a whole race received great blessings, just as the Lamanites did as recorded in the Book of Mormon!

I know that there are enemies of the church, inspired by Satan, who work overtime to try to find any fault they can to attack God's prophets, God's church, and the Saints. I would, however, dare these same people to accuse God of being a racist for making the Lamanites darker, or destroying the people in the land of Cainan in favor of the Israelites, or for withholding blessing from non-Israelites for so many centuries!
