Well, I guess my question has been answered. It's sort of like how multiple Will sockpuppets surfaced after MsJack posted her thread.

Re: Joe's remarks--they seem totally reasonable and sane. My reaction, though, is this: Yes, Boyd Peterson is an "insider" who's in a position to know, but Boyd Peterson is also an "insider," so what would he do if he was aware of such a thing? I would say that I trust him about as much as I trust Dallin Oaks, Boyd Packer, or Jeffrey Holland.

The biggest question mark in all of this for me is this: if it's true, why hasn't Will been more vocal about it? I can't quite figure out what he would stand to lose by insisting upon his "heritage." Maybe Church leadership and/or the MI people convinced him that it would be best to keep quiet? Perhaps he feared being painted as a kind of 2nd Martha Nibley-Beck?

I don't know. I disagree that this is as wild and crazy as the accusations against President Hinckley, though I would certainly concede that it is quite crazy.

Well this can only mean one thing ... Will is Dan's half brother

Boyd's not that kind of insider.

My understanding, communicated to me by Will himself (I'll break my vow of silence to Will), is that he was, actually, born of a virgin. His real father is an alien from a planet a few million light years from earth. The Nibley-fathering rumour is just a cover for the truth. My expert analysis tells me they don't even look alike, and Nibley was a short man who eschewed pony-tails as a sign of apostasy. What's more, Nibley never had an interest in horses, or farming, or writing music. So I think that nails it. What more evidence can I provide?

I know you all are basically skeptical about aliens, and have "healthy, inquisitive minds" that would not even dare consider this. Bearing this salient truth in mind, I might have to indulge myself in your theories and seriously consider them, because, although told me firsthand by Will himself - the Nibley-fathering theory sounds more logical and convincing.

What harm is there in speculation, anyway?

I'm certainly willing to take what he says as true, which in my opinion, makes Schryver look really bad for having led readers towards this possibility. I would imagine this would be very hurtful to Nibley's family.

I suggest you read the quotes RayAgostini. This was not my theory, but the conclusion Mr. Schryver clearly wished readers to come to. A lot of people on the board seemed to know about this issue, and I wondered if what Schyrver was suggesting was true.

The point, Cletus, is that this thread topic is positively absurd, and like the Art Bells and George Noorys of the world, you guys eat this stuff up.

Stay classy, indeed.

I apologize for having led you to believe that I am, in fact, the bastard child of two fictional characters.

I was unaware of your gullibility.

I suggest, with respect, Mr/Ms Tabitha, that you become more acquainted with "Mr. Schryver's" sense of humour.
