So, how did critical race theory get from an academic theory taught primarily in law schools and graduate level courses become the Boogeyman threatening elementary school children?

Just unpack that last sentence: the strategy is to strip the actual meaning of critical race theory and then use it as a garbage bin for racial stuff that Americans hate. It takes all kinds is disparate actions by different people in different locations and professions and lumps them together to create the appearance of an organized effort to teach white kids to hate themselves because of their race and become subservient to the black race.

This joker has wasted millions of tax dollars tying up legislatures in considering bills to address a problem that he made up. The result has been bills that when read literally would prohibit standard classroom teaching about slavery and its aftermath. But he did get to publish a popular book and receive donations to carry on his jihad.

The whole thing is a grift, and phony as a three dollar bill.
