Imaging the time saved if these were the streamlined Temple Interview questions.

It's in part three of the piece. They get ex'd. Then they appeal. They are invited to the CAB in SLC to talk to a GA that they refuse to name. Apparently they met with him for 3 hours, but he put it plainly in terms of whether there is room in the tent of Mormonism or not. And asked them these two questions, which they were unable to affirm. So, the GA confirmed there's no room for them.
It just hit me, in another way, what the hell am I doing here?

Ah. Haven’t made it through part 1 myself. All this makes sense. The more you know about the development of the temple cultus and the Anointed Quorum, the more you come to see that the real authority is tied up in a kind of tiered ordination in the Second Anointing. Everything in LDS authority claims through the Succession Crisis hinged on this secret authority. This is what the apostles rallied to, and why they rejected other claims. It is the sine qua non for being LDS really.

I once belonged to a cult like that. It actually got pretty boring and corporate too.

I've been listening to these in reverse order and just listened to that part stem mentions above.

1. JD was jealous that he did not get the three hour interview with a seventy.

2. They were also right about the punishments coming in a need to shame for political reasons (JD got pretty animated about this).

3. I've decided that everyone who says "Oh but they were Sooooo nice" is BS. There is nothing loving and/or nice about excommunicating someone. The dumb sheetz should Listen to your heart before you say goodbye and tell upper management to stick it, verses taking upon themselves the guilt of unjust punishment.

4. Sister Strong is, well very strong (as in seems to wear the pants in the family?). How does a strong woman settle for such fundamentalist views on women?

Although the two questions sound plausible enough, I have to admit I am through listening to people tell stories about meetings with unnamed GA's.

What earthly reason could there be for not naming the GA at this point?

Or at any point, really?

This is one of the reason that I was so proud of Bill Reel when he made a presentation at a post-Mormon community earlier this month, and in speaking of his experiences with GA's, he actually named names!

So much of Mormonism is steeped in secrecy. I expect it is hard to step out of all at once.

Thanks for the link, by the way. I do look forward to listening to it!

All the Best!

100% agree.

Oh Great...Mormon Stories has posted another epic 4 part continuation of this Snuffer series with an interview of Matthew Lohmeier, whose claim to fame is that he married Bruce R. (don't want to forget the "R") McConkie's grand daughter. Both evidentially (I have only just started to listen to this series) been excommunicated and are now in the Snuffer movement. Interesting so far.

Truly every person a Prophet, I have to give the movement an A+ on this, but it sure seems to have a scaling problem. It will be interesting to follow this over time.

I do find Mathew more compelling so far (started on number 2) than the Strongs.
