I remember that happening, but I don't recall the exact circumstance. Who posted those here and why?

Don't remember who outed him, but it was obvious it was him, such that he stopped posting here for months and then returned at first with some sock puppets. He wasn't very good at hiding who he was with them though.

Proximity does contribute because as the agent stated "around here"....heck proximity is even what gives the agent authority.
And yeah, French speakers probably not raising suspicion because to hear French close to the Canadian border is not unusual....but then again, the French ones are farther east, but I'm still unclear on how you sort demographics.

Nope, but you still don't say how speaking Spanish is evidence one is not American or in the US illegally. Even close to a border they have to have probable cause. Other then at a border check point they cannot just go around stopping anyone they want.

So over by Quebec on the US side where one will here French fairly often, shouldn't that be evidence they are not American and in the US illegally. That is the essence of your argument. How does hearing a certain language fairly often in an area establish the person is doing nothing wrong?

Yet, clearly the law (cited upthread) gives the agent the authority to do just this within 100 miles of the border, exclusive of checkpoint locations...so there is this glaring point of you not bothering to educate.

This is actually the claim made by you and One-Eye, (remember?) perhaps you should justify your own position a littel more, because apparently having 40k possible Spanish speakers in Montana has not convinced you?  :loll
But seriously, I did not claim that it does not estabilsh "doing" anything...but it does establish that speaking a certain language in an area is "common" rather than "uncommon".

How about speaking french over by the Mexican border. That would be rare to hear. How does that establish evidence the person is in the US illegally?

How many illegal immigrants on the US speak French? How many speak Spanish?

How many Americans and legal immigrants speak Spanish? Singling out what language a person speaks is ethnic profiling. I'm sure you are fine with that as long as the police state doesn't target you.

Speaking Spanish isn’t sufficient to sustain even a Terry stop. Unusual is not the same as reason to believe a crime had been committed.

Over the last generation, the people who are most likely to be terrorists in the United States are white supremacists like yourself. Are you in favor of routine searches of people who look and act like you as a common sense profiling approach?

Didn't I already point out that the IRS targeted people for being in the Tea Party. Kevin had no problem with this at the time.
