Violating Christian principles and commandments

I'm sorry I can't give many individual replies. The best I can do is to try to support the topic I started. Comparing what Christianity teaches v. the activity of the current administration and its leader.

Markk: I saw a post by Markk where he discussed income and giving. We're in one of those groups you posted and yes, we give to others in monetary donations (especially disaster relief) and service. I'm not able to physically give reliable hands on service to others right now but I do try to lend support in other ways. I've talked many times about the rippling effect that I think can happen when individuals step forward, you know how Gandhi encouraged people to be the change. Same principle. I think that's absolutely possible. I think I've seen it happen, too.

We here in the US have the ability to positively change the literal landscape, health, and living conditions of the entire world.

Conversely, we have the ability to negatively impact it, too. And that's what I'm currently seeing in the news when we put "American First."

What we have the capacity to do for others (not to them) is mind blowing.

I want to thank Jersey for collecting some of my favorite New Testament verses, the ones that keep me in the Christian tradition and help me appreciate its beauty, value, and historical importance, even when people identifying as Christian are so disappointing in their clear violation of the teachings of Jesus and Paul. Thank you, Kish. I felt like I had to step forward and do this. I chose what seemed most relevant in no particular order. It makes me so happy that the topic was well received. I could have gone on but I think I'm content with what I already posted.

I agree that there is much beauty to be found in scripture. Here's an example from the Old Testament.

It seems to me that Christians like Jersey Girl are quickly going extinct. When it appears that the vast majority of people who call themselves Christian in the US are selfish, belligerent assholes, the label takes on a new meaning.

What Physics Guy was talking about is on-point, and it exposes just how immature and thoughtless the tax whining we get from the right really is. It's actually remarkable how myopic and selfish these people are.

Jersey Girl, I'm pretty sure most people who call themselves Christian do so to hide how truly awful they are.
