Also, If I recall correctly, your cartoon hero's war buddy Popeye had some racist comics at the time.

Now I know why I dislike what Marijuana does to one's mind and personality so much.

You know, Coggy, there is a lot in this post that is worthwhile. I am simply puzzled that your consistent reaction is to insult others when there is absolutely no need to do so. If you could offer your arguments without the insults, you might get a modicum of respect. As it is....

Like you Trevor?

They were not insults. My opinion is that his mind has been destroyed, probably due to the same influences that have destroyed yours.

Droopy, you have no right to talk about my mind being destroyed by drugs. I have never even been drunk. Generally I think it's bad form to bring that up about you, but I think you opened yourself up to that when you basically said that my mind has been ruined by drugs. Having you tell me my mind is fried from drugs is like having a "leftist" tell me I'm bad for agreeing to raising taxes for universal healthcare.

Anyhow, I think Trevor was saying that you had a decent rebuttal to my post there, but that you unnecessarily clouded it by your insults.

That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Yes, these were most definitely FREEDOM CAMPS. Just ask any Japanese that were interned in them.

Coggins - how would you know whether or not anyone's "mind has been destroyed"? Apparently for you, the meaning of "someone's mind being destroyed" is that they don't agree with your opinions.

I never said that I do not insult, but I think there are very few who would claim that I insult with nearly the frequency you do.

QED.

Without irony or the intent to be nasty, I'll start taking criticisms on the health of my mind from reformed/ing alcoholics the day that I rejoin the Mormon fold. If I lack the wisdom to avoid the latter, why the hell not abandon all good sense?

OK, that was kind of snide, but, really, am I to trust Coggins on the health of peoples' minds? Who would?

Can't a guy offer praise? I guess not.

You said "concentration camps" not "death camps". Not all Nazi camps were death camps. Please be more precise next time. I don't deny that Nazi concentration camps were worse than US "relocation" camps, but to deny that the Japanese were heavily discriminated against and denied rights in our borders is foolish. America got a bit carried away and unfortunately it doesn't appear to be the last time--it certainly wasn't the first. And even then, I still prefer this country to others.

Only Japanese on the west coast were removed, and they could come and go as they pleased to go to work or do other business. They were not concentration camps in any sense of the word as normally used. There were reasons the government had for putting west coast Japanese there at the time, which, in context, reasonable people could disagree on but would also have to understand within the context of the time in question and the conditions under which that determination was made.
