You may be right. So with apologies to folks not practiced in the art of elective blindness to this candidate's vulgarity:

I wonder how things are working out these days now that we’re nearing the half-year mark with the new Administration.ceeboo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 3:33 pmI keep hearing how great things are. I wonder if this message is coming from people on planet earth or if it's coming from some pretend planet in space where messaging, not reality, is the most important thing.. In 2019, pre-covid, I was financially fine. My small business was fine, The hundreds of people I did business with were all fine. I believe all of this was a result of policies. Now, business is very tough - very, very tough - everything is expensive - Gas, electricity, insurance, vehicles, food, wood, supplies, paper towels - Literally everything is much more expensive. These same hundreds of people that I do business with are all saying the exact same thing as me.

America went from being near universally admired and seen favorably by every industrialized democracy to international surveys showing us being reviled by most of the free world. A Nobel winning economist just described America as looking like an "emerging third world country" because of Trump's policies. Energy prices are surging, and Trumps' BBB projected to make it even worse over the next decade. We just reinstituted the same steel tariffs that resulted in a net loss of tens of thousands of jobs the last time Trump tried it, and we've put tariffs on islands inhabited only by penguins.
So... looking pretty good for the first 5 months. Can't wait for the next 3 and a half years.

And egg prices … I heard that they’ve dropped 98%. These are indeed a resurrection of the halcyon days that MAGA was pining away for.

So, I'll try again, laughing at myself.
I read through your responses, here....I get he screwed up the debate, big time, we both agree on that. But why, mental decline? In context with the other thread about Fox and other outlets, even others around the world seeing his mental decline; like me conceding I screwed up in realizing I was posting to you and Gunnar, about different topics on the same post....can you concede that instead of Fox just getting lucky in their reporting, they saw something you missed about his being in mental decline?

If Biden was so smart, why wasn't he mentioned in the Epstein files with Trump?!!!

You're kidding me, Markk. You didn't concede anything. What's more, my goal isn't to get you to concede anything. Prodding you, or anyone else, to make concessions is not really why I engage.Markk wrote: ↑Sun Jun 08, 2025 1:48 amSo, I'll try again, laughing at myself.

However, as this exchange demonstrates, your reluctance to read or research what you and others (or the plain facts) have actually said often makes it too much work to discuss things with you. That you repeatedly ignore it when a couple of people point out that you're talking gibberish is frustrating. That said, it's not the initial mistake, it's the doubling down on it, then doubling down again and again that's kind of your MO. That, along with your proclivity for deflection, goalpost moving, and gish-galloping convinces me that I need to step away from engaging with you for a while.
Granted, this may not be anything to do with you. It may be my own impatience on display here. If that's the case, so be it.

I don't think anyone can accuse you of being impatient. Your observations are spot on. Personality wise, this specimen aligns very close to my right-wing frenemy. There's the lack of any base education, the decades of exposure to little else than nonsense propaganda, but in place of the visceral anger and darkness, fear, and low self esteem of Ajax, is a bubbly enthusiasm for life and self underwritten by goofy-eyed ignorance.
A few months back after the most recent neighborhood altercation, my frenemy explained to me that there aren't many people he isn't scared of. Nobody is going to win against him, literally, on anything. This personality "trait" probably selects for right-wing politics, but isn't a product of that. So when it comes to writing people's lives off without any concern and in fact, a bubbly enthusiasm, the pinball bounces around the bumpers randomly, but the quarter goes into the machine in the first place due to obstinance. So half of the horrifying positions taken have nothing to do with ideology, there has been no evidence of consistent belief anyway, but he's picked his team, and his team is going to win no matter what.
