This cannot be so. We know first hand that Dr Peterson does not gossip.

Perhaps I’m being tainted by my Mormonism and affinity for FAIRites and MA&Dites, but this just seems like bad manners. I have been to a few conferences, and have helped organize a few (of the psychiatry/psychology/sociology nature), and usually the resources for seating etc., are placed with forethought, and not in some willy-nilly fashion. A lot of planning goes into a conference (even a small one) and purchasing admission to it does not entitle a person to rearrange the resources (even something as trite as a few chairs and table) for their own personal optimal comfort.

There may be more to the story. Perhaps she was treated rudely. Maybe they could have let her remain. But in the end, despite her having paid to be at the conference, she was still a guest and as such there is a certain level of etiquette that is expected at such functions. Rearranging chairs and tables, and then refusing to place them back when asked by conference administrators, and then leaving because you can’t have it “your way” doesn’t seem all that justifiable in a conference setting.

It just strikes me as silly and immature.

I was there yesterday from the beginning till the end. I didn't notice any confrontation of any kind going on at all. Must have been totally behind the scenes. When I went back to get licorice and wander around between presentors I noticed a bunch of people scattered around with laptops out and actively using them. They seemed to be doing just fine without scooting tables around.

Larry Morris from BYU did a presentation on the "The Cowdery Controversies". He got into some pretty interesting stuff dealing with Fanny A. and Oliver's accusation that Joseph Smith had been adulterous in his relationship with her.

Funny comment from the thread about this event on MAD:

bsix:

Is this an example of censorship or limiting the free dialog at 'Times and Seasons?' If so, who exactly are the thought Danites in this particular matter...FAIR...or Ardis/Times and Seasons?

Um, six, any supporter of MAD doesn't have a firm ground from which to accuse other forums of censorship or limiting free dialog.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

The fascinating thing now is that the entire article is gone at T&S. These guys crack me up there. Big time control freaks, especially the constant cries of "threadjack".

Well it looks like I was right. Juliann admitted her role in the fiasco. Ardis showed up on MAD to defend herself and blast DCP. Frankly, I think this woman is a bit loopy, so I cannot give too much credence to what she has said.

The following comment is from Juliann. I thought you'd get a kick out of it. It would make a great signature line.

The message board buzz appeared on Mormon Discussions Board before making its rounds here. Unfortunately, we can't close down the entire internet.

I was the one who sent the burley man to remove the table.

Coming from this person, I doubt fire codes and the agreements with the neighbors had much to do with the incident. Not too shabby apologetics though from ole Lynch. You've got a very driven FAIRite who gets set off at the drop of the hat who seems, for some very strange reason, to have a knack for drawing a crowd of unquestioning supporters around her to stir up drama - even the president of FAIR! And poor Jan gets taken again. Let there be no mistake, someone got really, really annoyed on a personal level, and that's all it was.
