I finally got to go through and listen to all the music you guys posted last night. I liked everything!
Ride- Burn down Brixton awesome song
The Chemical Brothers video was like a mini movie. That whale was a trip.
Arcade Fire reminds me of Rusted Root http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDdokE1rAMw
Do oyu think Beastie Boys Punk roots help to give them that special niche where they rise above the other rap acts? They are so unique in their approach to music.
Monkey - Love the Dwarves song, makes me want to listen to it while driving fast on the freeway.
I'm gonna go this weekend and pick up a manic street preachers CD. Those guys are great!
Joan Jett has a punk style song: Bad Reputation made famous in the Shrek movie- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LllhrwvkXto
Breeders -Cannonball takes me back. That was a great time for music. You couldent swing a stick without hitting an amazing band. Wish a new scene would start.
The Green Day Minority song made me think about their Behind the Music special from VH1. Alot of Punk songs sound exactly like one another, and Green Day was able to take the same style and be creative enough with it that it was more pallatable.
Another great Pixies song: Wave of Mutilation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwiwcW8Y2Ds
This si the best version I could find. This song reminds me of leaving Tower records in 89 and an aquaintence that was riding with us got busted trying to shoplift this CD. The Alarms went off and he got tackled in the parking lot.
The Levellers were great. I never heard of them before. I like Violin mixed with electric guitar.

All my old punker friends used to watch that movie like it was Citizen Kane or something. I thought it was an excercise in agrandizing debauchery myself, but what do I know. I knew from your posts you'd love it. My brother had the poster on his wall for years.
