I'll add Katherine the Great to the favourite Pro-lds posters.
She's a really good example for the church in my opinion.
I respect Bill Hamblin and DCP for their intelligence and knowledge, and bet they are really nice people in real life, just that they can come across as a bit intelectually arrogant and unloving on occassion.
I also always listen to Koakaipo and really enjoyed Del March's posts...
Dr Steuss I love your humour (and Moksha's) reminds me not to take everything too seriously...
T. Shirt has always been very kind to me also...
Juliann is on my case at the moment so I'm a bit wary of her...
I wish she would write more on her areas of expertise... (early christian movement)

Nothing against you Liz, but to hell with being on a list of faves. I want my damn coffee mug (or T-shirt, or flogging, or whatever it is I get with the position).
If I don’t get my comeuppance for being an apologist, I’m quitting (I've heard that the Anti's have better health-care...)
I think I have an extra Starbuck's mug in my car. I'll send it your way.
;)

Can I have a sandwich and a cookie too? (Gotta ride this train as far as it will go) :)
Note: SHADES!!!!!! Return smilies to the people!
"Surely he knows that DCP, The Nehor, Lamanite, and other key apologists..." -Scratch clarifying my status in apologetics

Sure. You've gotta have their soup, too. French Onion is my favorite. LOL
I'm afraid Shades is going to stand fast to his "no smilies" policy. :(

I don't disrespect mopologists because I disagree with them. I disrespect them because they want to take nonsensical things, spin them and try to make them look scholarly when we all know that in reality, they're making up a bunch of crap to sell a con job religion. I think it's despicable and not worthy of respect.
My observation as an ex-mopologist is that they (generally speaking) start first with the conclusion that the Church is true, and then they work backwards fitting the "facts" to justify the conclusion. This methodology has been called retrojection or eisogesis. At times... this may require great effort, trying extremely hard to cram a round peg into a square hole (so much so that either the peg or hole get stripped)... but this is not the same thing as knowingly selling a con-job religion. I didn't know when I was an apologist for FAIR.
I think this assessment is dead-on accurate. The thing is, ignorance is not an excuse for doing what apologists do. People still go to jail whether they are aware they broke a law or not. It is not admirable to argue against reality.
Perhaps saying it's "despicable" is a bit strong, but at the very least, it's willful ignorance and intellectual dishonesty, and those things are not worthy of respect. I do tend to respect those (with one notable exception) who were once apologists and realized they were fighting a losing battle, but they aren't apologists any more.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
