How about "Nominal LDS", that is, LDS in name only.

Note: Lots of current nominal LDS do still call themselves "exmos". That is, they're officially in the Church, but not of it (oftimes for family reasons, or out of respect for parents/grandparents).

Couldn't have put it better myself - apart from the capitalization of Nominal, that is.

Zack, why do you think Nevermos lose interest in Mormon-related boards? What's your opinion?

I became interested in the culture then in religion, in general. I appreciate all I've learned from some posters here, and feel that I've been introduced to new concepts that I may not have come across if not for this board.

This board stresses me out which is why I have to take breaks. I don't know if the boards skew my vision (I'm fairly certain it is) of the culture, yet, after a while I find myself getting really stressed out dealing with some of the posters here and some of the sentiments expressed. Like Zack stated I'm secular minded and always have been. I feel the odd man out and some of the sentiments and behavior strikes me as incredibly bizarre, at times. I find myself lashing back after some sentiments are expressed and would rather not have to deal with myself after doing so.

What first drew my interest in this board in particular were the personalities. It was a "woah!" moment, for me. Then I got sucked into the personalities and saw similar patterns in some of the posters and attributed it to the culture. Then I find I lash out at the culture and then fear I'm hurting individuals that I do care about and think are decent people. I think there's a lot of hatred on this and the MAD board that manifests in different ways and it's difficult to handle after a while. For me, at least.

I read your sentiments and I know they are not really how you feel, because I know you see the humanity in me. Thank you, for that. You saw me as a human being. You even told me one time (and another TBM male said the exact same thing another time!) that I was virtuous in an unconventional way. You never dehumanized me even when you discovered I never was or ever could be a golden investigator. :)

No, I don't wonder why. I know why they do as I've explained to you numerous times Yet, I'm glad that some were able to see beyond my sexuality and see me as a woman deserving of respect and friendship. :)

There was a reason I posted this, yet, I don't expect you to understand that. Gaz is being called out on the board because of sentiments he's expressed toward sexual "deviance". I typed up a few things last night that I wanted to say on that thread and couldn't figure out how to approach it so, I decided to explain how I am the lowest of the low in terms of what the Mormon culture considers a human being and this man saw me as a human being worthy of friendship. I think that speaks volumes about him, his faith, his character, I wanted to support him and let it be known.
