Hey Ceeboo, hope all is well ...
They take youth groups from the wards that are in the temple's "district". The youth act as the "proxies" and are indeed fully submerged in baptism for the dead.
Anyone can also do "temple work" for their related dead and you can submit the needed information and do the baptisms for them yourself (but you must be of the same sex as the dead person)
All temples that I know of have the font on the back of the oxen. Not sure about the "Mac Temples" They may just have fonts like normal foke are baptized in in stake centers.

Due to "Temple content" question-Respect intended (I promise)
One of the pictures on this thread had a baptismal font on the backs of 12 oxen:
It is my understanding that all LDS Temples have this 12 oxen baptismal font. (?)
Is that were the LDS perform baptism for the dead?
If so.............
How does that process work?
Who performs them?
Who is being "submerged" in the dead peoples place (I assume that someon is being fully submerged, yes?)
Thanks and peace,
Ceeboo
Which picture has the baptismal font?
I like the San Diego and the Hindu temple pictures.

Hey Rock (I'ts been a while) All is GREAT with Ceeboo. Hoping all is well in Rock-world too.
For a better understanding, I would like to drill down a little more on your replies.
So the "proxies" are submerged one time for every name? (Can the same proxy be used several consecutive times for several different dead people?)
Interesting (Thanks)
Again, for my own further clarity: The Baptism for the dead process can be performed by anyone who is LDS? Or must you have a TR to do this? Or must you hold some position of authority in the LDS Church?
Although I am in no way certain of this, this is my understanding as well.
Thanks again for the time.
Peace,
Ceeboo

Yes and yes. When you do baptisms for the dead, you get baptized several consecutive times, and they have a list of people whose names they read off for each time you get baptized. I have no idea what the outcome was (or if there has been an outcome), but last year a guy sued the LDS Church for injuries from doing numerous, repetitive baptisms for the dead:

Anyone who has a temple recommend. Youth (under 18) in the Church frequently do this. They get a recommend just to do baptisms for the dead (it's the only temple ritual they are allowed to be involved in, unless they are being sealed to parents (i.e., if they have been adopted or if their parents were not previously sealed in the temple)). Sometimes it is an organized activity where adult leaders (leaders for young men and young women) will take a group of youths to the temple to do baptisms for the dead.

Hi Darth,
Thanks for the replies.(Appeciated)
Got it
Wow! I bet THAT was a very interesting case. (I wonder if the attorney used a water-boarding connection.)
Although I was not sure, this is what I would have assumed.
Interesting!
Thanks again for the time/effort. :)

That staircase it so awesome. I think the Nauvoo Temple has circular staircases too...
