By the way, Christ absolutely set up His church no matter what one wishes to term it or how they wish to classify it! He specifically stated that He set up His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it! Also, Paul names many offices of that church as well as proper operating procedures!

So what you should have said is "I believe God is. Currently creating more because my Church leaders tell me He is."

Mormons (you included) have an unfortunate habit of stating pure baseless speculations as 'facts' when they are just 'hopes'.

In the Journal of Wandle Mace the following is recorded: "Joseph told them to go to Kirtland, and cleanse and purify a certain room in the Temple, that they must kill a lamb and offer a sacrifice unto the Lord which should prepare them to ordain Willard Richards a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles" ("Journal of Wandle Mace," p. 32, microfilmed copy at Brigham Young University Library).

Joseph Fielding Smith said that "the law of sacrifice will have to be restored.... Sacrifice by the shedding of blood was instituted in the days of Adam and of necessity will have to be restored" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p.94).

The law of sacrifice WILL be restored! Apparently you have not read the entire end of the book of Ezekiel! The 43rd chapter of Ezekiel mentions the ordinances of sacrifice in the temple after it is restored in the last days! Many of the last chapters of the book of Ezekiel mention in great detail the events and ordinances of the restored temple!!!

It is interesting to note that even though the Mormon church teaches animal sacrifice after the death of Christ, they cannot find any support for this doctrine in the Book of Mormon. In fact, the Book of Mormon condemns it in the strongest terms. In 3 Nephi 9:19 Jesus was supposed to have said: "And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings."

As a Mormon...
This question is one that I have had to ask myself...

What is in a name? A Rose by any other name... William Shakespeare.

If the name of our church is: the church of 'Jesus' Christ of latter day saints,
And the name 'Jesus' is a Grecian-Anglicization, Replacement rather than name of Yehoshua/Yeshua/Joshua the actual Hebrew name given by an angel to the earthly mother of the son of God.
After all revelations past and present, God prefers everything to be done in this substituted name of Jesus.

I have on occasion entered into debate with some less knowledgeable members who challenge the very concept that Jesus was called anything other than 'Jesus' as an angel had declared it
quoting at me Matthew 1:21 and 2nd Nephi 25:19 as some kind of proof. they show their truly limited understanding of how modern day scripture came to be.

I have not really seen much else mention the fact other than page 35 of Talmages 'Jesus the Christ'

What is the big deal?

It is a big deal to me, every prayer, every blessing and indeed the very name of the church is based on a Pseudonym.
