I'm not trying to be obtuse, but I don't get exactly what you're saying here.[/quote]

The original research was paid for by a Republican group opposing Trump. People keep saying the word 'collusion', which has no legal meaning. There certainly was a lot of contacts between the administration and the Russians. The purpose of the House, Senate and Special Prosecutor is to investigate those contacts, and why so many people lied about those contacts. As far as your challenge to produce something, that is the process that is happening now, with these investigations. The case is being built slowly and methodically. We are not at the top.

First of all, wasn't it Donald Trump who said that he alone could fix the United States? The billionaire who was so sure that the problem was the people in Washington were so incompetent that only someone from the world of business could fix the mess? When Lester Holt asked Donald Trump about why he fired Flynn and Trump said it was 'the Russia thing', that wasn't a well played trap. Trump volunteered the information, much to everyone's surprise. Trump's National Security Adviser was the paid agent of a foreign nation. President Obama warned Trump specifically NOT to trust Flynn. Sally Yates told Trump's council Don McGan that she thought Flynn was a potential victim of Russian blackmail.
So the well played trap was to warn Trump NOT to hire Flynn? A clever and cruel race are the Democrats.

My first choice would be to use the Constitution, like we've been doing for the past two centuries.
Water Dog wrote: I'm kind of surprised Trump hasn't just fired Mueller. Use some common sense fellas. If he was a Russian agent, you think he'd let this go on? It's completely within his authority to fire Mueller. The only reason he hasn't is his peeps have convinced him it's politically better to let it play out. When Mueller was first announced I knew several guys who were really excited cause they thought it would quickly end the Russia nonsense. I had my doubts and figured it would drag out like this.
Again, I'm not exactly sure that I understand you here, but if what you are saying is that people think Donald Trump himself is a Russian agent. I don't think anyone has made that claim.
As far as Trump's complete authority, I suppose that depends what you mean. Richard Nixon had the complete authority to fire Archibald Cox, in the sense that he ordered his Attorney General (Elliot Richardson) to fire Cox, who resigned in protest. Ditto his his Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus. Finally got to Robert Bork, who agreed to do the deed. Not the brightest move of Nixon's Presidency. A lot of Senators within Trump's own party have made it clear that firing the Special Prosecutor would not deter the investigation. And you better believe that the Special Prosecutor probably has something like a embassy security breach drill. None of the information collected by the Special Prosecutor is going to go away with Mueller's firing. I would imagine it is archived at multiple locatons. If Trump were to somehow fire Mueller, it just means that somebody else would continue his investigation, and that someone not appointed by Trump.
The process at this point is slow but inevitable. It can be slowed but it won't be stopped or reversed. There are three branches of government. The President cannot stop the investigation of the President or the Executive Branch. Nixon tried to stop Cox and ended up with Jaworski. Clinton didn't stop Ken Starr. This is going to happen.
Water Dog wrote:Prediction. The investigation will not turn up a shred of evidence of Trump campaign colluding with Russia, or Russia "hacking" the election. Wanna put some money on it? How's a grand?
Again the word 'colluding' which is not a legal term. As far as 'hacking' the election, it's well documented that Russians were buying Facebook ads bent on specifically influencing the election for Trump. I don't think it's been proven that the 'hacked' the election in the literal sense of manipulating the vote totals, no I don't think there's evidence of that, but there certainly was a lot of hacker probing of many state's voter systems.
Water Dog wrote:Mueller will get a few scalps, for "crimes" committed in the course of the investigation and other such nonsense that has nothing to do with Hillary losing or Trump being a puppet of the Kremlin.
Trump is proposing that people vote for Roy Moore, accused of multiple incidents of improper sexual contact with minors, and also part of an educational program that told people it was morally wrong to vote for women. Why? His opponent is 'soft on crime'.
Republicans aren't soft on crime for not denouncing their own crimes, because the crimes are 'crimes'. If you want to discount any aspect of the justice system, simply put quotation marks around the word 'crime'.
In any case, as far as how many scalps will be collected, this remains to be seen. But given the potential leniency of Flynn's sentence, it would appear that he has something big to offer Mueller in return. Again, we are reading tea leaves at this point, but given what is already known about Flynn's activities, Mueller has the sword of Damocles hanging over Flynn's head. There is so much that he wasn't charged with that could be tacked on if he doesn't deliver what he promises. So again reading tea leaves, but I would guess someone higher up is not sleeping well tonight. My guess is that someone sleeps with Ivanka Trump.
