We have always understood the Gospel to be adapted to the needs and cultural conditions of the times and places in which it has been revealed. Revelation is understood to come, in most cases, in the language, symbolism, and adapted to the sociological conditions of the peoples to whom it comes.
I don't see how secularists are trapped on their own "Bolero Shield" here. Because ad hoc adjustments in Mormon revelation keep things au currant?
Haw Haw Haw!
Reminds me of one of Shades's good ones that I think "The Dude" has as a sig. While Mormonism adjusts to the man-created cultural conditions of the times via revelation, every other church does so via apostasy. It's all so clear, when secularists, trapped on their Bolero Shields See Mormons doing what every other other church does to modernize, they are supposed to remember that the LDS church is a special case since LDS people assume it's true, unlike Catholicism or others that LDS assume is false.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
