I would thank Nevo for being one of the more intelligent, articulate, thoughtful, and well-spoken contributors to this board, personally. But, that's just me.

And, he's got you dead to rights in this instance.

I wouldn't be pissed if he said some (even most would be OK) but all Mormons? Yea, I have to admit I do carry some chip on my shoulder, I grew up as a Christian minority in a Moslem land, we all were called infidels and cowards.
I don't necessarily like some Mormons, I wouldn't do business with them but there's as many good as bad ones out there.

My niece let me know about some gossip she'd heard about me recently, and what's funny is that it was something that happened more than 30 years ago -- and not even something that happened, just who I supposedly had a crush on!! And all this far away from Utah.

Mormons do gossip, and they lack boundaries, but by and large I don't think they are all that dishonest. There are a lot of better reasons to not join the church.

Not, Mormonism: What I have learned to be the complete and honest truth which no person can change my mind about.

Good. Hopefully our experiences can help you with toning down the sweeping generalizations you made in your opening post. My Mother and two sons remain active Mormons, and are far from being what you described above. Although I have left the church and no longer believe it to be true, I love my family dearly and would never want to hear anyone say such things about them.
