Re: Most TBM's I know are right wing nut jobs

Post by _Coggins7 »

I think you need to do some more reading. Chomsky has compared America to Nazi Germany, with which you might agree, since you speak so highly of him. One of his balls-ups was the "invasion" of Grenada. I spoke to people who were there, since I was born some 100 miles from Grenada, and they were almost all relieved that America intervened, even if under the "pretense" of the Monroe Doctrine. It's idiots like Chomsky who foisted this "invasion" idea, when it was anything but an "invasion", and the pop-media are no less irresponsible. If you swallow this CRAP and link it with "TBM Mormonism", your agenda is revealed. Apples and oranges.

Indeed, Chomski lost all ability to be so much as marginally rational many years ago. This man is one of the most egregious intellectual hacks of the last century.

Get Horowitz' and Collier's The Anti-Chomski Reader for the actual truth of the matter.

I found this in a chart of standards of living. It seems some of those wicked "socialist" countries are doing well. In Australia some people fear we will have followed the American model and end up with working poor who are homeless.

Are you kidding. Do you really have any idea what the difference in living standards are between the U.S. and even some of the most advanced democratic socialist countries? Western Europe is almost utterly stagnant economically across the continent, with entrenched double digit unemployment, double digit inflation, and a sternly hostile business environment. If Sweden were the fifty first state, it would be the poorest state in the Union, poorer even than Mississippi.

You're idea that there is a class of working poor that is homeless us pure hokum, and has been debunked for upwards of two decades. The vast majority of homeless were, and are now, the mentally ill, many of whom were let out onto the streets in the 80s during a leftist fit of compassion regarding their welfare.

I'm beginning to believe that many Europeans are precisely as ignorant of America and its culture as I've long suspected they are.

Yeah, right.

Our country has a budget in surplus, a good cheap medicine scheme, universal health care, loans for university study, families receive $4000 from the Gov when a baby is born. After that based in income thet receive more money each month for each child.

Where do all these money and benefits come from Aussie, and what would be the case if all the people from whom this money was confiscated were allowed to keep most of it to use in whatever way they so choose?

No wonder food is cheap there (America) if the workers get SH pay. Don't you think there is something obscene for a country that is suppose to be the richest nation should have such a disparity in income.

No. There is a disparity in income because there is so much freedom here to follow your own path in life. And by the way, upon what basis is equality of income a value to be pursued at all?

You're a soft, intellectually anesthetized sheeple Aussie, precisely the kind of easily led social insect that is one of the primary causal factors in the present steep decline of western civilization of which Australia is a part.

You and those like you will eventually precipitate the utter destruction and unraveling of all you have been bequeathed by prior generations, and you're going to take the rest of us with you.

Frightening, isn't it?

My husband is from San Diego, Oceanside and he worked one job and survived just fine. It is very expensive in some areas of the country and I believe that people that have difficulty making ends meet should have assistance.

Yes, and the areas that have the highest, most artificially inflated costs of living and the most business unfriendly economic environment (think California, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, Massachusetts etc.) are, one and all, those historically controlled by a primarily Democratic political class, i.e., socialists.

And even in the worst of them, economic opportunity is rife compared to much of Western Europe. Indeed, I'm a San Diego native (at least I consider myself one), and I wouldn't live there again for any reason whatever. San Diego, like much of California, has become a kind of Fabian Socialist enclave, riddled with government sponsored economic scams, confiscatory taxation, sky high costs of living, massive artificial general inflation above the national average, and numerous incentives not to start a small business and try to get ahead.

I have no idea how the middle glass survives in this once great state. Want a taste of what Germany, France, the U.K., and much of Western Europe has become. Try living in California. I loved it in the Seventies and even into the mid-eighties. Now? No way. Great place to visit, but California features a textbook example of what transpires when you have government for the sake of government.

The entrepreneurial class is being crushed in the Golden State, and government is preeminent (indeed, as I've said before, California is virtually a satrapy of the environmental movement. California is heading for a really crippling energy crisis with its environmentalists hanging over the proceedings like buzzards).

Sad, all the way around.

People that fight and are willing to die for their country are usually incredibly patriotic. Now you can disagree with their politics or their world view, but to suggest that the men and women that fight for America are uneducated and poor as to why they enlist is a disgusting sentiment that I take issue with! Take issue with the politicians and not the men and women that are in the forces.

Its also pure leftwing mythology left over from the Vietnam period. Vietnam veterans, as a class, have levels of social pathology, educational levels, and economic success equal to or, in some cases, better than the general population.

My father just went back to Vietnam with a group of POWs a few months ago. He is often agitated by the way that vets are portrayed.

He is a very successful man and is psychologically sound.
