You guys are funny. He calls you for something, and you start hurling insults. And yet so many threads over the last few days were all about how that is what MA&D does! You can dish it out, but you can't take it.

It should be noted that Josh is by his own admission suffering from depression. He says as much on his own website and even discusses possible linkages to his relatively newly diagnosed diabetes. He's clearly under medical treatment for the diabetes, whether or not he is for the depression.

What the hell does diabetes have anything to do with anything? I mean seriously... Does it really need to get this dirty? I haven't attacked you once, and your now mocking my diabetes??? And I am clearly nothing. I controlled it and have been off the medication for over a YEAR now after I successfully lost 60 pounds...

Come on people. Lets act SOMEWHAT civil, ey?

No one's mocking your diabetes. You admit to depression on your own website, and it's there that you speculate on a possible connection between depression and diabetes.

I'll comment more on this later (or not). I watched the video and while I am not credentialed to diagnose mental illness (any more than anyone else commenting here) I see nothing at all unusual about the video except that Josh needs to be more aware of what his facial expressions are doing when being filmed.

That is to say, the comments here of armchair shrinks to the effect that Josh needs professional help are, in my view, largely out to lunch.

There are other ways to respond to Josh's communication in the video besides giving air time to the superficial. The only thing I see "confirmed" in the video is that Josh oversimplifies the nature of this board and the purpose of those who participate.

Well, Josh does love the :::eyeroll:::, apparently in real life as well as online.

I can't speak for others, but I wouldn't tell Josh he needs help based on the video alone. I'm telling him this based on long experience with his posting history, as well as personal information he chose to share online.

There are posters here who express pro-mormon sentiments and are not advised to get help, because they aren't expressing ideas that demonstrate a troubling, skewed perspective about the world around them.

But I wouldn't expect you to grasp this distinction.

They need to be one, or the other. You pat them when they express genuine doubts, or even criticisms, then kick 'em in the backside if they shift to expressions of praise. You are too predictable.

Josh only wants dialogue, and seems to be honest in his expressions. He is demonised because he, wait for it: still believes Mormonism. That's it. If he was atheist, you'd treat him just like you do the other Josh - with sentimental flattery. I really have to be wary of someone who judges another by whether they're atheist or Mormon, and that's what you do.
