Sorry,

No problem, I know I can sometimes incite this kind of stuff by being too abrasive. Sorry for what I did to set you off.

This is progress! I'm glad to hear it.

Nehor, were you serious about this? Did you really participate in this Sons of Helaman program, or were you joking?

If you did participate, can you tell us a little bit about what the meetings were like, and what was discussed so there is a fair representation of the program?

I was not serious. I was joking. I believe the program is currently only active in certain areas and I'm not in one of them and don't need the program in any case. :)

Maybe I came from a ward with lazy Bishops (late 60's early 70's) but I was never called in for meeting with the bishop where the question of keeping yourself clean, as I believe it was put until I was a Senior in H.S. And had been inactive for over a year. I took it to mean am I having sex with my girlfriend and told him we were and weren't about to feel guilty or bad about it. He pretty much dropped the subject and went on to my non attendance whereby I asked him politely to end the calls that I would let them know if become interested again. Surprisingly they quit pestering me except for the guy who was assigned to Home Teach with me. So, I never heard of these questions and meetings with the Bishop till I was nearly 18. And this was in Springville at that time nearly completely Mo. None of my friends had ever mentioned having one of these meetings either. Seems odd Springville would be so lax. But that seems to have been the case back then. I suspected my girlfriends father even though from a different ward to have had a hand in my being called in that once as her parents were quite sure what we were up to. I wonder how those Bishops blew off that part of their job with all the young men in my ward for those years? Didn't they have any type of report to make that they had done the meetings with the teenagers in their ward? Surely they didn't fake them if so.

The closer you are to SLC the more anal the church is, of course, in my not so humble opinion.
