Yes, Hamblin is now retired. See here.

I nominate for honorable mention the single-best minute of Interpreter scripture roundtable discussion during 2014: 10:00-11:00 of this scripture roundtable discussion.

Now I followed a link and read Hamblin's Facebook wall. His review of Exodus: Gods and Kings is the kind of irony only Bill can produce. He complains of anachronisms in the props...........................

Bill Hamblin wrote:--Many gross anachronism = bedouins drinking tea from a bedouin tea pot. Really? With a budget of tens of millions, why can they spend a few thousand to hire a historical consultant. (I'm available, hint, hint!)
--they got the arms and armor alright (but should be bronze not iron); military tactics, not so much (cavalry charges were only 500 years too early).

You usually have to pay for this kind of comedy.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Which makes what they do all the more nefarious. It's one thing to be a dupe, and it's another to know better and do the duping. Shame on him.

I'm shocked this list isn't already included in the Hall of Fame. Without this list included, the Hall of Fame loses a lot of credibility.

SHADES, please fix this immediately.

Fixed!

Hey, didn't they consult Bill on that Book of Mormon movie? Not the one that started on Broadway, that one nobody wants to remember....?
