This will never happen. There simply aren't enough one-track believers in the church, and never will be. If we can't get even half of the members to pay tithing, how on earth does anyone expect us to take over the world?

If The Church can't get even two-third of the members to remain active, how on earth does anyone expect it to take over the world?

Moreover, when the FP wants influence votes in US (see another thread), it says members outside of US - more than half of the membership - don't count.

And if there is anyting that puts the brethren into panic mode, it's a decline in tithes and offerings. How will Bushman receive continued financing? I can't help but think there is a fascist solution here. I had a BYU lecture by a die-hard Nietzchien who used material from an R-rated movie to further his agenda at the school. I think Hunter's vision of an enslaved human race that answers only to the General Authorities is very right-wing. There is plenty of material from Nietzsche and Martin Heidegger that casts suspicion on science and traditional reason. While Bushman is certainly a socialist, the precise ways in which he justifies his "nuance" of historical truth will ultimately be translatable into faciest forms when the brethren are ready and Bushman has fulfillled his use and can be discarded.

I haven't been following this thread, but I hope that the paragraph above is a parody of something.

I was pretty drunk last night, but I stand by most of what I wrote, the gist of it anyway.

Yes, Gad. 'Tis better to be morbidly obese than to imbibe alcohol. I'm sorry for you, too.

Most people I know can't write like that (complete sentences, correct punctuation, coherent concepts) when they're sober. Must be kinda expensive to get you completely bombed.

Too much imbibing and the individual gains a beer belly, hence "morbidly obese." There are health risks all around; criticizing someone else's while ignoring my own makes us all hypocrits. Try to avoid being defensive about it.

I don't think you can expect it to take over the world at its current pace. But consider this, Christianity began on the underground and look at what it was able to do? Thanks to the right merger with a world power.

Now think about Howard W. Hunter's goals. To influence world leaders. Well, you just never know, they need to catch the eye of the next up-and-coming dictator who sees an advantage to a one-world religion.

This is a very, very odd place. But fascinating, in its way.

Honestly, it seems as though we are being put on. This garbage seems like a joke, some sort of parody.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!
