Consig has done a lot of venting lately. I haven't seen too many positives posted by him about the LDS church. Nor has defended it very much on this forum.

I have never found Consig to be hostile toward the Church. There is a big difference between being honest about history, and pointing out variances, and having a hostile attitude.

Following his posts, from his momental 'bullseye posts* on MAD, to what happened to him was sad for many to see. After being released, he became a little bitter, not understanding that maybe it was someone else's chance to have the calling and grow accordingly. He was sunday school for a long time, longer than many. But after that release he became a different person on MAD and was a little more hostile to church positions and a little flippant which was why he was banned. But I do think that he can come back if he is a good boy.

Now of course, with the blacklisting, I see it a little more differently and he needs to take the bull by the horns and have it out with the people involved. It would be good for him to do so. However, I would imagine that there were people in class that complained to the bishop but these people will remain silent about their feelings. But he will hear from those who liked his class. He obviously was a polorizing person in sunday school.

It's entirely possible to teach from the chairs. Unless they silence you, you still have an audience, albeit a little less accessible.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I can see it in my mind:

Consig, squirming in seat, hand raised, wildly waving … me, right here, call on me! Teacher scanning room, "anyone"?

Consig, wait for the teacher to ask you to close with prayer.

Here is Consig and his underground classmates just before going to church. Consig is the one holding the trapper keeper containing his roguish class materials.

Everyone has a right to vent. What you fail to realize is that those who vent about different things normally do so because they have a lot invested in what they are venting about.

If you have not seen positives regarding the LDS Church which Consig has posted, then you have not read him very thoroughly. ("Mote-beam" and all that. )

This was my advice to Just Me before she came out of the closet. When I told just me to raise her hand and make her comments, her allies on this board defend her silence. Such is life on these boards. It really depends on who makes the comment.

I don't think so. It is just an observation. I agree with harmony that consig can speak up in sunday school and have a great impact in the class. Why not? We need people to speak up with the knowledge they have to add to the discussion.

And it does depend on who is making the comments. Some people get a pass while others get named called etc like you just did.
