This board is like a Rorschach blot test. You see what you want to see.

No, actually its much more like watching pine cones hatch.

That you look at this board and see "shameless buggerers" and "orgiastic circle jerks" says much more about the inner workings of your own mind than it does this board.

Actually, "circle jerks"; people who sit around the stage as a stripper does her stuff and place money in her garter nicely sums up both the intellectually pornographic and exploitative atmosphere of much that goes on here, as well as the sense of cheap thrills that pervades a great deal of the more demented and gratuitous assertions made.
Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

And of course, they don't need to match Mr. Wizard, because all indications are we do not have the source documents. We know, you see, we don't have them because eyewitness accounts from the 19th century clearly describe them.

Wrong. You forget that I was the LDS apologist who wrote that FAIR article you tried using to make that case two years ago. After making this audacious claim you hurried on over to MAD to beg for help and nobody could, except to redirect you to my article that was still published at FAIR. I asked FAIR to remove it, which they refused to do. My later research -after Brent had offered corrections - led me to the uncomfortable conclusion that Nibley and company had twisted the evidence to suit an apologetic end. No disinterested person could read these pieces of historic evidences and come to the silly conclusion that the extant papyri fragments were not those being alluded to. They match, sometimes perfectly.

As Will Schryver unwittingly said, people who do not already have testimonies would naturally arrive at the conclusion that Joseph Smith was a fraud. It is the LDS concept of "testimony" that encourages members to continuously deny their ow reasoning faculties God gave them.
