There is no solid evidence that Rigdon ever practised polygamy (though such claims were made). You may be confusing him with Strang.
However, if Rigdon wrote the Book of Mormon, he would have let the cat out of the bag when his daughter Nancy was asked to be a plural wife by Joseph Smith. But Rigdon did not let the cat out of the bag because there was no cat in the bag. And Rigdon did not leave the church because of it. Now isn't that strange?
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith

Could it be obeying god's will?

What does it say when their "10 out of 10" guy can't come across as even mildly informed on any aspect of Mormonism?
.
No one's perfect????

Who knows but what we have at this moment would impy no. But wasn't Christ the god of the old testament? I remember hearing this somewhere but I don't know where.

It would not bother me in the least if he did have sex with them. But the pretext behind plural marriage was not sex or raising a righeous seed for Joseph Smith. He was all about kinship in the after life.
