All this hand-wringing about whether a man had sex with his wife is ridiculous. Since when is the assumption anything other than that of course he did?

If Joseph Smith truly considered himself the husband of these women, the burden of proof, if sex is to be disputed, should lie with those who feel that he probably didn't have sex with them.

And as for the whole "it wasn't a marriage, just a celestial sealing", apparently Helen Mar Kimball was disappointed this wasn't the case, when she found out that she no longer could feel herself free to consort with the local young men of her age after her faux-marriage to Joseph Smith. Apparently Smith had dibs on her in a very real, very right-now, very worldly way - like, you know, a married man would be assumed to have.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
