I'm on the hunt for a black cashmere turtleneck.

Mmm. Undyed? I like the natural look of it.

Currently, the cowl neckline is my fav.

why me wrote:And of course, such a sweater today would be considered modest. I think that her message for the girls today was basically this: take care of the clothing you wear because your clothing can send a message. Now LDS men are also taught not just to see women just as sexual beings but as human beings. Girls are more than just a body. Not a bad teaching at all.

And the message to girls is: Develop your inner beauty because this inner beauty will reflect your outer beauty. And because of this you do not need to wear revealing clothes to stress your body.

That is a word salad. It makes absolutely no sense.

Look at these! I will always regret getting rid of the 70s black turtleneck I inherited from my mom. Dammit.

Clothes are like that. Decades ago, my grandfather insisted I inherit his black, wool overcoat. I wore it a couple of times and then got rid of it because I decided it was too oldmanish. Every winter for the past ten years I've gone looking for one just like it. Someday.

Yeah. I wore the top a lot and it got a hole in the armpit. Shoulda just fixed it (again) rather than giving up on it. Oh wells.

Just wondering, what happens in situations like this:

Personally, I see a superb athlete first, a nice body second. Oh, she's married, by the way.

In that picture she is clearly on the practice field west of the Smith Fieldhouse, so technically she is violating the BYU Honor Code.

But seriously, if you can't look at another person without immediately thinking of sex, you are the one with the problem.

The Taliban comes to mind. Second and third generation Muslim women (here) rarely wear any type of covering, and without being "shunned". They certainly maintain their "moral values" and stay with the culture, and the many expectations of that culture (which goes beyond religion).
Still, many stereotypes persist about "Muslim women", and I don't think that's a good thing at all.

That's been my experience with my Muslim friends in the US.

No, it's not.

It is culture that sexualizes nudity. In many cultures women walk around topless and it is not scandalous. It is our overly prude puritan culture that breeds the problem. The moslems are even stupider with their it's a women's fault if she is raped mentality.

This whole concept of modesty is a cultural artifact.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.
