It helps if you get the right wing rallying behind you and donating tons of money, so you can hire a team of slick lawyers to demonize the victim.

The only problem with that is Zimmerman didn't pick a fight. Your logic also assumes no responsibility on the part of an offended or angered individual to control themselves.

He got out of the car and followed Martin. If he'd went home and porked his wife Trayvon could have gone home and drank his tea and everyone would still be fricking alive.

Perhaps if a black man had gotten out of his car and followed a white teenage girl and if , she being afraid had maced him, and he had subsequently shot her because he "saw her race her hand in the dark and feared for her life", you would feel differently.

My "dog" is that I'm uncomfortable with laws that allow one person to behave provocatively towards another, get into a fight with that person, and shoot and kill that person without legal repercussions when that person could have defended himself without killing the other person.

I hope that's sufficiently clear.

What's mind-boggling is people who accept the ridiculous testimony of the gym owner that, after a year of training MMA style three times a week, GZ was as weak as a kitten, completely unable to defend himself against a skinny teenager.

Martin was taller and much younger than Zimmerman. Oh, and as a once active martial artist myself in my long ago youth, three times a week for a hour or two is nothing when it comes to either developing real expertise in a martial art or real fighting ability.

Real ability to fight and win is as much or more psychological and attitudinal than physical. Most people have the core ability and physical capacity to fight, but couldn't win most fights with thugs and punks who are comfortable and acclimatized to violence, and who do not shy away from violent conflict or the possibility of real physical damage, and who enjoy inflicting pain and do not have the internal moral controls and normal feelings regarding the rights and about violating the personal integrity and bodies of others that most civilized people have.

Clearly, from all eyewitness accounts we now have and the nature of the forensic evidence, Trayvon had clear and obvious dominance of Zimmerman from the outset, and was intent on doing real damage.

Let's say you and I meet in an alley one evening. You are not armed. I am, but you don't know that yet. I call you a rude name and make fun of your outfit, your intelligence, your mother, and your religion. Being provoked, you hit me in the face, and even though I try to fight back, your impressive fighting skills are clearly overwhelming.

Since I am losing the fight, do I now have the moral right to pull out my gun and put a bullet in your heart? I now know that I could get away with doing so legally, but am I morally justified in killing you because you are beating me up and "doing real damage" (broken nose, black eye, maybe even a broken rib)?

Do you really believe the nonsense you spout? An adult male was following a teenager in his truck, and when the teenager tried to run to get away, teh adult male got out of his truck to chase him. And that's not behaving provocatively towards another?

How about if an adult black male was following the teenager? Would that work for you?

You are asserting that a skinny teenager who was not involved in sports, nor involved in any physical training, had more expertise in fighting than a man who had been training three times a week for nearly a year?
