I hadn't thought about this angle on things. You may very well be on to something here. I have also thought that the way DCP described his "sabbatical" was just a little odd. But as part of a severance package, it makes a lot more sense.

As part of the plan to get rid of me, a previous employer put me "on special projects". When I told one of the people who reported to me he (rightly) laughed in my face and invited me to go for a beer.

How do you figure that? He is on a paid sabbatical. Those aren't normally offered to professors on thin ice.

I actually know of cases where professors at BYU gave been transitioned out of the classroom and into paid research before an early retirement because they were in trouble.

However, in Daniel's case I am confident that you are right.

What on earth would lead you to think such a thing?

For this, we are thankful. But it's time to move on. Hang up the keyboard. You have fought the good fight but your time is over.

Hi Tavares,

LOL...We have won...I am but a carpenter who has stood my ground with Dan and his confederates for over 20 years...pretty much by my self...they had a whole department with as Hamblin wrote backed by Millions...I have a small library of my grandfathers books.

And remember " Markkk" was banned from their sites, even when being reserved and passive with my remarks. This was not because we I was "silly", it was because what I said made sense and could not be rebutted without adhom behavior.

Let me guess...you were a supporter and a "Danite", a Fair board junky...and now that Camelot has crumbled...you are here in anonymity, disgruntled...stuck in a church for mostly family reasons that you no longer believe in...in other words...Mormonism has failed in your world view, and all hope has been ripped from your heart? Your hope was in folks like Dan, they let you down and you are putting him out to pasture?

Don't take it out on me because folks like Dan failed...I was in the same boat you were in but I chose hope? In fact DCP was the first person I contacted (at FARMS) when I started doubting the church...and he and Louis M made fun of me...that was 22 years ago.

Like the Danites of old, the Danites of our generation are fading away...and that is a good thing, Hamblin may be the last gasp of his leadership.

I haven't had an exchange with Dan in a long while...you are new here yet you know mine and Dan's history...so in fairness...what name did you post under on the other boards?

Also maybe you can point out a few of the ways he made folks like me look silly...was it riding the Deer into battle, Tapir pulling sleds, we wouldn't know what a sword would look like, the church always taught the LGT...etc?

Name the largest accomplishment Dan and NMI has made in putting Mormonism on the map in regards to it being true?

thanks
Mark

Brilliant question.
That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

So, do we now have your "informant" within NAMI who was feeding the posse here internal institute goings on for all those years, or is your Deep Throat still an international man of mystery?

Because he expressed what he was feeling to a full professor? Well, BYU is one place notorious for coming down on the personnel for expressing their opinions. Do you think Elder Pitt might be behind the scenes sharpening the headsman's ax?

In BYU terms, is "full professor" the equivalent of GA? - not to be questioned or corrected even if wrong?

Dr. Peterson has now posted footage of the incident here. Suffice it to say that the encounter didn't end with one man telling the other to "Go to Hell!"
