Wtf - Mormon apologetic junk mail?

Post by _Who Knows »

So I get a letter in the mail yesterday (addressed specifically to me). On the envelope, in the upper left corner, it's from:

Mahonri Moriancumer McConkie
4550 Zarahemla Dr.
SLC, UT 84124

Inside the envelope, it's just a couple of printouts. One is about samuel the lamanite warning people about the coming of Christ. The second handout is called "Clearing up Misconceptions About the Book of Mormon".

Anyone know what the hell this is? Anyone else gotten something like this? Can any of you super-sleuthers figure out who the hell this is from?

Is it postmarked from SLC? I would imagine it's a well-meaning ward member trying to call you to repentance. Or it could be that an apologist from one of the boards is stalking you. :)

That's a scary thought.

I noticed that after I started posting on FAIR/MAD, I started receiving a lot of promotional emails from Deseret Book, etc.

Since I've been banned, I don't get those anymore....interesting.

Yes, it was postmarked in salt lake. And I live in utah county.

What's wierd, is that address looks like a residential area, but doesn't look like a valid address.

Definitely not a valid address. Maybe someone from the SCMC was spying on us that day we had lunch in Draper. ;)

Maybe someone in your ward works in Salt Lake and mailed it from there. Surely the well-meaning members of your ward know about your apostate condition.

How did you check the validity of the address, runtu? The name is an obvious bit hoo ha, but I could easily zip up Zarahemla Drive and find the place if it exists. Then I would park my car, walk up to the house and stick my tongue out at it.

Actually, there is such a place. I stand corrected.

Check it out.

You're kidding. There actually is a place called Zarahemla Drive? Good grief.
