Infymus, Blixa, runtu, Dr. Shades, KimberlyAnn and Trinity
Walk into a bar...
No this isn't the beginning of forced and lame-o joke, but just a quick description of the meeting of several apostates and human beings over food and drink.
I think evolving was also there but I'm blanking on it, because I didn't get a much of a chance to say hello. As much as I love, value and defend the glorious anonymity of the interent, its also quite a pleasure to meet people in real life. You know, without the aid of computers.
And it turns out that Infymus and I are quite close in some ways, that we share a certain proximity in regard to some matters. A physical connection that I suspect will be explored more, too.
runtu and KimberlyAnn and I are old friends having met before (once, with each!). Trinity was a real pleasure to talk to, though I didn't get a chance to beg her for her recipes containing roasted poblanos, tomatillos and jalapenos. And Dr. Shades? What can I say about the man to whom we owe our ability to be anonymous moral cowards via this board? Big ups, guy.
(I'm posting this in Terrestrial rather than Off Topic because certain posters mentioned in this post told me they never read the Off Topic forum).

I really enjoyed the lunch and the company. I met a lot of people I have "known" online, such as Craig Paxton and Jim Huston. I think I had the best seat in the house: between KimberlyAnn and Blixa and across from "some lady" and MishMagnet. Trinity, you are a lovely person, and I enjoyed meeting you.
What you realize when you meet such a group is that we all have varying backgrounds, but the church is what we have in common. Needless to say, what binds a lot of us together is the pain we have experienced in dealing with the church in our lives.
Everyone there was very friendly, and it made me laugh that when I said who I was, a bunch of people said, "oohhhhhh." I'm not sure that's a good thing. :)
Anyway, I wish I could have spent more time with you, but we'll get together again.

Why is it when I read that (while having no clear understanding of what it means) I'm immediately intensely jealous, frustrated, and pissed?
Glad you all had a great time.
I think she means they live close together.

Oh thank god. Because if anyone else is hooking up to screw I'm going to be a really pissed off jealous bitch.
Which I am anyway. But that would most decidedly amp up the bitchy pissed offness.
*edited because I can't spell when I'm frustrated and pissed*
