Shalom Auslander: "Foreskin's Lament"

Post by _amantha »

A friend of mine sent over this link to an NPR interview with Shalom Auslander, an Ex-Orthodox-Jew whose story sounds all too familiar. Here is how my friend introduced the link to me. He's a nevermo who sees striking similarities between exmos and exjews (if there are such creatures).

I heard these today while raking leaves, and thought of you. Shalom left Orthodox Judaism and has issues related to it. It would be somewhat provocative, so either use headphones or be prepared to get looks from your spouse because some of his issues may well be ones that you yourself face. The second guy is good listening because he followed all the rules of the Bible for one year...to the letter. Not that you have time to listen to either one, but I thought of you none the less...

I lurk here often guys but restrain myself from posting because it's all too easy for me to get carried away.

I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Great post! Thank you!

I think LDS missions are a lot like circumcision as nobody real thinks twice about and it, and it's just something you do, and if you could, you would want what was taken returned. I want my two months back!

Please feel free to get carried away here. Thanks for the link. I think I will have a listen now and get back to you. Thanks for your post.
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...
