False Exclusivity and valid Exclusive Information?

Post by _Mercury »

We could go on for hours about Mormons claim of false exclusivity. I remember being taught that the authority of a Mormon missionary was a powerful gift we bestow upon our investigators. This false currency game is at the heart of Mormonism.

Every effort is made in the missionaries position (hehe) to establish a false exclusivity in the mind of the investigator. an effort to save the diamond in the rough is made, earnestly sometimes, to bring the investigator to baptism.

Its a strange thing, missionary conversions sourced from tracting and waste case methods. Methodone Clinics and broken homes not withstanding.

Drug addicts and single young women with multiple children. We could convince them of our propriety, sure. Easy enough. We will not steal from you physically. No, we give emotionally in our what we perceive to be earnest assumptions on how the world works. Its sad, really. Both individuals are being led by the blind, people afraid to open their eyes to the other side of the coin. It aways surprised me initially on my mission on why people did not accept baptism. We got rid of the non-gullible early, that much I understand.

The false Exclusivity of Mormonism was taught to me as the story of an ice cream truck driver.

Said Ice cream truck driver is driving along and somehow pulls over a car for speeding. Can an ice cream truck driver pull over a car for speeding? No, of course not! What they can do is hand out ice cream in exchange for currency, not valid speeding tickets.

So I got to thinking of that poor analogy again several days ago. The false authority of Mormonism or any other organization pretending to be the representatives of the TRUE ORDER of things, I am now skeptical of.

While visiting with a stake president in my home a season ago, he said something to me. "I am your priesthood leader no matter whether you believe it or not." With priesthood leadership comes obligations. He came after I spoke of resignation. I told him in no uncertain terms beforehand that I did not see his organization as holding any valid exclusive information. We talked of morals vs ethics, lies vs half truth vs valid information and history of the church. We talked of business, the area we have migrated to and our children. It was the last comment of being over me because he believes in Elohim the space god of Kolob.

Its silly really.
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning
