I have a suggestion for you. New members will not necessarly know their way around the forum. I know I found it hard to adjust to the layout. Somaybe you could put a link to the "Introductory thread" on the homepage and also a brief of how it all works.
Justa suggestion, I feel new people might not find the introductory thread easily.
